i been watching the popular series SECRET LIFE OF AN AMERICAN TEENAGER since it 1st started and i can say that it is a very good drama filled show. But plenty of teens out there are saying and thinking that they can have a child at 15 and it can be all pitchy and fine like amys'. Like their life can all fit in and you can still attend school and have a job. And the top thing that have female teens questions is "CAN MY BODY BE AS PERFECT AS AMY'S AFTER SHE HAD THE BABY?" many people would answer this as no but can it be possible can your life be a good aas amy's after a teen has a child at 15. Can the show be influencing teens in a bad way i will love your comments on this please.

I think it might. I don't want to watch it because stuff like that makes me angry. I'm 18 and it makes all these girls look like trash on the commercial. They get all crazy over a worthless guy that probably still can't even dress himself without mommy's help. They go around having these guys babies and they let them ruin their own lives. I hate that crap and shows like this make me feel like it's telling girls who don't have parents there telling them this is wrong that it's ok to do this stuff because someone is going to do something to take care of it somehow. It was bad enough seeing that crap in highschool I don't want to see it on TV too all glamorized like this stuff is real and this hot guy is really going to care if your baby's momma.

I used to watch the SECRET LIFE OF AN AMERICAN TEENAGER and I eventually stopped for some of the reasons you mentioned. The show is supposed to show teenagers that having a child at fifteen is not a good thing and that not everything about having a kid when you're young is going to be okay. Having a child is hard and you need a lot of time and effort to put into raising a child. The show doesn't show that. It's showing teens that you can get pregnant, have the child, and know that everyone else around you is there to help. Which is wrong. They're showing the fairytale version of having a baby young. So yes, I think that the show is leading teens to think that teenage pregnancy is okay. That's terrible.

My teen daughter was the first in our family to start watching this show. All of her friends were watching it too. i had to see what the buzz was all about. Now i am hooked on this show as well. this show does deal with issues that teens everywhere could possibly be facing. the show is not telling everyone to have a teen pregnancy. They do handle the issues of teens openly and honestly. i don't think the show will influence teens in one way or another in the way they approach their lives.

I have also been watching this show from the start. They are showing that your life will just be peachy with a baby. I am sure it would be easier for me if I had my family here with me to help with the baby all the time. I was 28 when I had my first daughter and it was not as easy as they make it. There are two babies on the show and it just seems like a happy little life. They need to show the sleepless night and show her strugle a little bit. I am wondering if they are going to make Adrian suffer more or have a harder time with it. I was really wasn't suprised that they went the other way on the abortion. As these are the same people that made 7th heaven as well. I think they show needs to be a little more real. I know in my high school there were at least 5 or more teen mothers and let me tell you they didn't show up all happy and well rested all the time. Some had help from their family and some didn't. They touched on this a bit but not to the point that they should of. They need to make it a bit more real I think. Some will get their bodies back and some won't. I think they are making it look a little to easy. They need to show the baby more he is like a prop. And he must be the best behaved child on the planet. I have actually seen the show 16 and pregnant not sure the channel but it shows a little better but still a lot of these girls are just thinking that it is no big deal. I think teen pregnancy is becoming to accepted. It is hard to have a baby and it is a lot of work. Making a little 10 second speech in each show doesn't cut it, I know that I fast forward past it. I hope show will grow a little and use some reailty in new story lines.
