Movies Based on Board Games

I just read an article that Universal Pictures will be doing at least 4 movies based on board games. The first announced movie is based on the game Battleship (the one with the famous line "You sunk my battleship"). This got me to thinking, what other board games do you think could be made into a movie. It has been done before with Clue. (I actually love that movie. It's crazy.) What board game would you want to see turned into a movie?

I've never actually saw a board-game-turned-movie film. Thinking about it feels weird. Although I think they'll be cool as you'll see your favorite game boards turned into movies but what are they going to do about the storyline? I think I'll go see Clue. So that I would have an idea on how those kinds of movie look like. qq

:) Well I recommend Clue if you love crazy, slapstick comedies. I sometimes wonder if mystery dinners (a show where during your dinner, a murder happens and you have to figure out who did it) came from this movie.

Wow! I think that would be a good thriller. I like detective stories. They're very engaging. In my opinion, that is.

I think board games turned movies is a bad idea, but video games turned movies is an OK idea. Max Payne, for example was a good movie.

I think it depends on how it is done. For example, Clue is based on a board game and it has a pretty good fan base who enjoyed it. Then you have movies based on video games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I love both games and watched the movies more than once, but I'm sure everyone can agree that they weren't exactly the best movies in the world.

i got to agree with allire! Candyland would be great as a movie! almost like an alice in wonderland/Willy wonka and the chocolate factory mashed together. lol I also like shoots and ladders but I don't think that gqame would make much of a movie.

That is such a good idea. Make it very Wonderland-ish/ Willy Wonka-ish (are you also a Johnny Depp fan? lol). Shoots and Ladders, eh? Well, maybe if they make it like The Labyrinth it could work. Hm.

I liked the movie 'Clue' too. I think that a good board game that could be turned into a movie is 'Candyland'. I'm drawing a blank on anything else.

It is kind of hard to think of something on the spot, but good suggestion. :)
