What makes you set a page as your "default" homepage?

So as i'm working on my "get paid to start page" I am wondering, What makes you set a page as your "default" homepage(the page that pops up automatically when you open up a browser)? Is it so that you can see daily news, daily weather, play some random online games? I personally set mine as Google News as although a lot of the Google News sources are a bit.. "biased"(what news source isn't?!?) I do get the gist of what's going on in the world without having to read a newspaper. What about you though, what would be the deciding reasons for you to set a page as your "default" homepage so it pops up every time you open up a browser?

Personally,i set my homepage as my school homepage.Actually it comes with this default school homepage in the first place as it was brought in the school. And from april till now,i have not change it as it is very convinient to log in and check my school stuff and even some learning tools. So i don't think i am going to change it in these 3 years :p

It has to do with what I use the most and what browser works best for me. Since I receive my Mylot discussion responses through my email I like to have that user as my homepage. I like the way that I have it set up and have had it this way for several years now. Whatever works best for you.

I have set ti to blank...i don't like to see any colorful page when i open web ...i like to do what i want to...so i don't want my attention to be diverted else where... I have marked some sites as bookmarks...where i want to work...so i start straight with those sites..

I usually change my default homepage to the site that I am using the most lately. For about a year it was facebook. Now I am on mylot way more often then facebook so I guess I should probably change my default homepage to mylot but I dont really feel like bothering to take the tmie to change it.

Yeah, I am surprised that like other sites, Mylot doesn't have a button to press to auto-set it as your default page. I have my business site as my default, but that's a pretty given.

I never change mine, it has been the same for years, and I am not about to change it. So for me, it would really require something special for me to do it. But I doubt I could be convinced, to be honest!
