Fruits shouldn't be eaten at night. Really?

Traditional eating habits of most of the communities say that cosuming fruits at night isn't good for health while some scientific theories deny it saying that this is just a myth. What do you think?

Depends what kind of fruit. They say bananas are good for you, they keep your hunger at bay and provide a slow release of energy, that's very well but not great when you're planning to stop moving soon when you go to bed. Avoid starchy things that will take a long time to break down, bananas, UNRIPE apples etc. These can be compared to the carbs in bread. But the carbs in fruit are much not harmful to your weightloss goals (unless you're on some kind of low carb diet) so you need not be concerned.I don't exactly know what you mean by "at night" but if you're meaning right before bed you're better off eating vegetables than fruit, and if you do eat fruit try ones that are mostly water, melon for example would be excellent. Eating fruit at night is not a bad idea though, it's actually a good idea.Just definitely stay away from bananas too soon to bedtime. If you are just maintaining yourweight it should be fine. Apples are pretty good just don't have too much (calorie wise, no more than 300 at once) Are you craving the sugar? With all that exercise you're doing and staying within your calorie range don't worry about it. I've never heard either of both. But they are both possible but I think the scientist have a bigger chance to be right-they are scientists after all ;) I like eating whole day a lot different stuff so I don't really care, and I dont have any health issues for.

well i've never heard about this thing ever before. i usually study during the night (something like from 10 PM to 4-5 AM) and i usually eat a lot of fruits during this period and drink milk too. i've never experienced any kind of bad effect on my health. so in my opinion, fruits are not bad for ur health, either they be eaten during the day or during the night.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. It will surely help me. I would like to know, why do you study at night, 10 PM to 4 AM when one should be sleeping? Did you follow this schedule when appearing for the HSC board exam? Why do you need to do 8 hours study? Don't you get bored?

i'm appearing for a competitive exam which is scheduled in 4 days. so working hard for it. and the reason for studying at night is that there is minimum amount of disturbance during the night. so it helps a lot in building higher concentration and therefore it helps in higher efficiency, for me atleast.

I don't know that fruits should not be eaten at night. For me, I eat fruit anytime I like, be it,day or night. As long as I feel like eating, then I will grab one fruit from the fridge. I am just wondering why fruits can't be eaten at night time..what will be the consequences?

Well I really don't think that fruits are bad for your health when you eat them at night. I always like to eat fruit at night especially pineapple XD. I think it actually helps me sleep better at night. But ya I really think it's just a myth. Fruits are supposed to be healthy not bad for you.
