Which do you buy, New or Used

For my PS2 games, I've been buying used because they tend to be inexpensive and convenient, it's good because other stores are starting to get rid of their stock and a good used game store is a great way for me to get my games without having to spend too much money. Especially since the games tend to have their price drop. I tend to only buy new games if it's a title i REALLY want.

Most of the time I have to buy the game used because you just can't find a new version of it anywhere. But I can't complain as long as the game is in good condition. I'm actually a bit picky when it comes to buying used games though. The game has to have the little player's guide booklet or I won't buy it at all. It's just this little quirk I can't seem to get past.

You're right about that. Between my brother and myself we have almost all of the various Final Fantasy games and there's no way we're parting with any of them. It took me ages to get my hands on Final Fantasy Anthology and it cost me quite a bit too. But not just that, you can hardly find any of the old PS games anywhere. I'm really glad that I picked up Legend of Mana and Brave Fencer Musashi when it first came out. You can't even find those anywhere these days.

I would actually prefer new ones, but I actually buy neither new or used, where I buy, they download from the internet and burn copies and sell us. And they do not have any problems, and no copyright issues at our country(yet), hehe But I think there are some games, like limited edition of the greatest games should be bought NEW, if its a keeper, and there are games which you wouldn't have any interest after few weeks, So its a matter of knowing your GAME!

This discussion is about buying games legally, not downloading them illegally. Please don't talk about illegal downloading of videogames.

I usually buy used since it is much more cheaper and convinient as long as it doesnt look like trash yet. And the disc itself is not badly scratched wherein playing it would be impossible or lags like hell.

when it comes to video games i buy them used. for starters there half the price or cheaper. buying games brand new is probably one of the best ways i know how to lose money. most stores resurface game discs now so they arnt scratched and they work just like new. but i agree if its a video game that i really look forward to and i cant wait for it i will buy it new. when it comes to buying say Wii fit for the nintendo wii, i would deffinitley buy that new. i wouldnt want to mess around with a barley working Wii balance board. same with video game consoles ill buy those new, or if i know the owner or the system was in really good condition then i would buy it used

I have to agree with you there. If it's a game that requires some kind of accessory to go with it I'd definitely get it new since it's guaranteed to work instead of taking my chances with a used one.

For PS2 games I've always bought new games as soon as they are available at least the ones that I like of course. I've always been impatient about games so I can't wait long. But I've stopped buying PS2 games recently cause I haven't found any games that I really want these day on the PS2 console. Mainly because I'm more interested in PS3 games these days. It seems that some of my favorite game sequels are on the PS3 e.g god of war, resident evil, devil may cry, metal gear solid and some others. I think I'll buy a PS3 console next year. PS3 games are expensive so I'll need to save a lot of cash.

I've bought both. Used can be really great because they're usually very cheap, but sometimes you need to buy them new if they come with something extra that you may not get if you buy it used.

For video games I also buy them used because I don't want to spend so much money on a new game and you know play it once and not play it for a long time again. Games always loose their value if you buy it new you can nver sell it like that again you would have to sell it at a cheaper price and lose money. That's why buying them used is what I do. Still my brother likes to buy video games new in fact all his video games he has bought them new because he doesn't like them used still he wastes so much money like that. Also he doesn't play them just once and then he moves on to another game. He is almost out of money he would saved a lot if he didn't buy them new. Right now I'm telling him wait till the price drops because he has even bought a sixty dollar game for the PS3 it was that one final fantasy 13 game. He should just learn to be more patient like me. Still I think that from now on hes going to buy them used because I'm not going to let him buy them new my mom and dad also think so. When my brother sees a gamestop he quickly tries to go in, but my mom and dad hold him back because hes spending his money quick and at this rate he will be broke in no time. Anyway really interesting question I liked it very cool, have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I get my playstation 2 games from boot sales (second hand) they are usually very cheap and cost only around £1. I would never get first hand ps2 games do they even sell them anymore? As long as the CD is not so scratched up I buy any second hand game, it's not a blooming toothbrush!
