Would people be gullible when they are in a desperate situation?

I guess that is a true statement sometimes. People are gullible when they are in a desperate situation. A friend of mine in desperate of job recently. He got a mail which he can apply for a post office job yesterday, but he has to go through some sort of test before they can hire him. But in order to take this test, he has to submit $300 administration fee to them to process his information etc..... That will be a scam no doubt. Common sense, you apply for job, and they have to pay you, instead you have to pay them. I think he should report them to the local post office, or some sort of authority.

People are gullible in the sense that their position wants them to try any opportunity to make money. What you say is absolutely true a person ought to be paid and not him make a payment prior to securing a job. These jobs which require payment to be made and intimated through mail are of dubious nature.Everyday i read in the news paper that many have been deceived in such a scheme.I think its better to be wary of these schemes.

yeah, there is too many scamsters out there you won't know about. The best measure, not pay first, Otherwise, you might just been deceived.
