HAs anyone among you here ever tried sending money from Japan to the Philippines./ I am aware of money transfer from one bank to another but it seems different. I know moneygram but its not near the area where my friend is going to send the money. Do you have any ideas guys? Thanks for the help.

Hello there. I've read that you don't have a Paypal account. Aside from bank to bank and moneygram, you can send money from Japan to the Philippines through Western Union http://www.westernunion.com/info/selectCountry.asp?country=global and also Xoom. ( http://www.xoom.com )Where you can use credit, debit cards and even Paypal to send money. The recipient doesn't need to have a bank account to receive money. Money can be easily picked up many locations all over the Philippines such as BDO, M.LLuilier, etc. And even door-to-door delivery. I used Xoom before and it works out fine. Best of luck to you.

Western Union would also be good but my friend is not in Tokyo and I think the only branch they have in Western Union is in Tokyo. My friend's place is in Hyogo and I dont think they have anything like Western Union in their place. We wanted to try xoom but his friend had a problem with xoom before so he's not confident to send the money using xoom.

Open a paypal account, send a fund that equal to the amount that you wish to transfer and let the receiver (she/he must have paypal account too) withdraw the money using their paypal account by transferring to their bank. It's safe and only takes a few minutes. cheers... :)

I do have an account in paypal but my Japanese friend doesnt have one. I am not sure if paypal operates in Japan. I am aware that paypal is also the easiest and safest way to send money but are there other ways aside from that?
