Yes & no, here in Australia, we have some of the world's deadliest snakes...I am not scared of the non-venomous but I am scared of the venomous ones as these ones here in Australia, some will chase you. I will stick to the golden rule here in Australia - if you see a snake, leave it alone. I lived in a caravan park about 5 years ago when I lived in Mackay & I have an Eastern Brown that lived under my caravan (VERY deadly)...he left us alone & we left him alone - I named him Frank

oh..yes i've heard that snakes only bit you as a defense mechanism for threat to their lives... so as long as we leave them alone..., they will definitely do the same thing... well.., that's kind of cute..giving a name for a snake...=)

Hi deve_annrn, I don't have the phobia of snake. Snakes are living things as well like human being to survive in this planet. I don't hurt or kill any of them unless I were to be attacked. Yeah, for the sake of our safety or to avoid our loved ones or any ones around to be hurt or killed by the snake, no other choice we are forced to do so. Here in my place if there is any snake occurring in our house compound we could ask the firefighters to coop with the snake. Few years back I had seen several firefighters captured a big and long boa snake with their unique tool in the opposite house. It's told that the snake was sent to the nearby zoo then. Snake wouldn't visit our house if there isn't any wild bush or shelter that snake favor near to our house I suppose Take care and have a nice day
