How many drinks in a week to become an alcoholic?

My friends and I often wonder how many drinks a week it takes before you are considered to be an alcoholic? People seem to have different views, for some 10, 20 drinks a week is normal, for others this would seem excessive. what are your thoughts, please share how many drinks a week it takes. My vote is 30 or over a week, this is standard drinks.

I think it's more about when you can't go without a drink, or start drinking on your own, rather than any specific number of drinks.
