We here in the Philippines just had some typhoon problems last month and we had power interruptions for upto 5 days. so we are wondering what you guys think of your list will be if you have no power too for such long days. Our list back then was 1. Go outside and play, badminton, do outdoor activies. 2. Play with our dog 3. Visited family relatives 4. Clean the house, fix broken stuffs in the house Hmm, thats what I can remember, but will add to the list later on when I remember what else we did on those days. What do you think would go on your list? Thanks and hope this wont ever happen again though.

aha... if that really happens..in the day I will go doing some readings ..no matter novel or something, but if it is very hot at home .go out walking or ask some friend to play some ball is also a good choice,at night absolutely sleeping... maybe I will try to play with my cat...but she is ..how to say she is very "arrogant".........maybe she don;t want to play with me..T_T

thanks for commenting. me, I dont like reading books or novel. I would rather play ball than read books :) hehe, cats are like that, they will only play with you only if they really feel like it. you cant force them if they dont like to, but if you got treats or food then you can force them. at least my dog is very obedient and affectionate, plays with me everytime and shes very playful.

Hi there Fedmich! Well, when Typhoon Frank came here in our province, we didn't have electricity for almost a month. Classes were suspended since Kalibo was buried in mud and silt. What we did was go swimming in the river at the back of the school which was in front of our house, sleep, read books, play the guitar and sing, and we also went swimming in a falls about 20 minutes away from our house.

Hi there too nanayangel :) Sorry to hear that it happen to your province. almost a month is more crazy and I really hope it wont happen to us here. we also played guitar as well, though all I did was to listen and sing, as I dont know how to play it. I dont quite like reading books. and swimming is a great idea but the swimming pool near us is already full before we even try to. They too also dont have no electricity so they closed the pool after a few days.

Yeah, having lived in Manila practically my whole life, I am so not used to long power interruptions. It was something really new to me and like you, at first, I also thought that I will go crazy. Turned out, it was perfect for spending quality time with the whole family. Thank you very much for choosing my post as the best response.

Reading by candle light or flashlight. Listening to my wind up radio. Playing with my dog also. Make a slad and a cold plate for dinner. Light a fire in our insert for heat but also to warm the kettle for tea. Perhaps catch up on some yard work during the day. Visit with others, walk the dog, ride bike and probably paint or do some crafts.

Great ideas, thanks :) I don't have a bike though and thanks for reminding I might buy some when I get the chance. Our power/electricity is back again but our main recurring problem now is the internet. hope we get back to normal. this isnt good for our business.

Last year at some point we had a few days of power outages. I am pretty much the type of person who is easily amused so I could literally just sit and think and be happy with doing just that when the power is out. Here is a list of things I would suggest, and some of them we / I did. 1. Read A Book During the day we would read a book 2. Play card games / board games There was one time that I believe we did play a board game 3.Go to the grocer's and buy food that can be grilled or doesn't need to be refrigerated or frozen We didn't do this, we opted to eat out, but depending on the weather you can always do this Those are three things I suggest doing when the power goes out, of course catching up on house hold chores that need to be done is also a good thing.

At least the phone is still working ;) we also used the phone a lot during the time, trying to check if our relatives are doing fine despite the calamity / typhoon that time. and we slept in the floor using "banig" (a mat) cloth, and pillow. was lying together with our huge pet dog labrador :) at night it is really quite dark here in our place because there is a big lot in front of us and not so many house nearby.
