Do you have a planner or an organizer?

I am so disorganized and because of that I tend to miss a lot of things and tasks and also the reason why I get swamped at work a lot of times.. The thing is, I get more stressed and I want to change. I recently decided to list all the to do tasks I have and make a note if they were done or not. But I am only using a notebook and seems like I still get to missed alot of them.. But I am improving though and I am liking the results, so I am planning to get an organizer or a planner, where I could make a list of all those things that needs to be done and then check them when done. I know it is not going to be easy because I am lazy and I can't manage to be following a certain schedule eversince I am more of a come what may person.. But since my job requires it and I love my job so much I dont want to be stressed out from it, I have to eliminate those bad habits and develop a new one that is going to really help me out organize myself and my tasks and my job thus a stress free working environment..How about you mylotters, do you plan or organize things/tasks in your life or your more of the come what may type and whatever type?

I have an organizer, without that I would be late for all appointments and be at my maximum forgetful self!!! I make marks, notes before going to sleep or whenever I remember them. But sometimes it so happens that my organizer reminds me and I still forget when I decide to do it a little later...ha ha

Yes, I do have a planner-organizer. I conduct training programs and travel from time to time. Without my planner, I would get lost on what to do. I have different schedules to attend to, so I make sure, I plan each of them. Most especially that my training is conducted in different places and I have to travel by boat or by plane. I do live a busy life and I have to admit that I do not have a good memory. So it is really worthwhile for me to plan and organize things to make life easier and so as not to miss out important items.

I use my Iphone to plan my schedule. I find it much more easier (although a little boring in entering with one finger) and at least I can read it because my hand writing is not that legible. (Should have been a doctor 0except I was bad at math and science) It is quite easy to me to find out when what appointment is when so that I do not get any that overlap.

I put them in the calender application of my Iphone if there is a date and I put the ones that remind me to do something or what I plan to do in the note pad section, but then again it is hard to do it with one finger when you are used to using all of them. I find that with me, it is also easier to find them. Otherwise, if one writes on a planner, one may leave it someplace and forget about it, but with something as expensive as an Iphone, Blackberry, or other smart phones, you definitely do not want to leave it anywhere.

That's the reason why I don't want to use my phone in writing down to do list and reminders, it's because I dont feel comfortable typing the task in.

Hey Clouds, Yours is a story similar to mine with a difference - I found that getting organized is easy and fun. Here is what you can do - 1. If you use Microsoft Office on your PC you already have an Organizer and planner named - Microsoft Outlook. 2. If you want some other way, you can put up the planned schedule on a note paper and stick it on your work desk. I tried both and am now more organized than before.

Wow, that sounds great. I may have to buy stickies to do that.. but that's great. I also like the Microsoft Office thing, I will try these things out and I will check the results. Thanks for sharing!

I still use Microsoft Outlook 2003 and on this application, you can fill in your schedule on the calendar button at the lower right side. You can set the date and time and also the amount of time before which the system will show you the task ahead. The catch is that you should have this application running in order to keep getting notifications from the system.

Yes I have a paper planner as well as an organiser application on my iphone. I have ditched all my organisers for the summer holidays. They will be put into full use when college starts in September. Usually I'm good at organising things as long as I have a planner to list everything in or obviously I'm going to forget I'm very forgetful... Anyway the way I use my planner is that as soon as I have a task I need to do I just write it into today's day and write when it's due. I prioritise what I will be doing for the day and then I try to get to work (as long as I am not procrastinating, it's something I do a lot though I am trying to improve that), Once I complete a task I will tick off whatever it was on the list and I give myself a reward for having done the task by putting my feet up with a nice cup of tea to go along with it. I then move onto my next task and I do this until all the tasks for the day are finished. Sometimes when it gets boring I may change the day for a particular task for a later date, or if I feel I need more time on it. My biggest advice is that you get a good template to fill in a weekly timetable, then have another small notebook for writing the list of things you need to get done. Search online for some templates that will suit your style there are some good ones out there so just pick what you think would be best for you to use. Then plan out your schedule and treat it seriously as if you were working for a big company that relies on you a lot and that you'd get fired if you don't get on and finish your tasks. Don't procrastinate. To enjoy your tasks a bit more have a snack and drink while you're at it but don't forget your task because you're too busy eating. Try to enjoy your task and maybe have some background music playing. If any of these things will distract you then don't do them as getting your task is the most important thing. When you've finished all your tasks enjoy the feeling of freedom until your next set of tasks arrive :)

i usually just make a list of things that i need to get done. Not in a planner just on a sheet of paper and i just mark it off as i get it done. i would probably never use a planner or organizer i would forget about it lol. It is just easier to make a list on paper.

I am doing exaclty the same but I also need to practice to be more organized in writing them down, because sometimes Im just always in a hurry, when I go back to check the task if its done or not, I couldnt even read it, its all over the paper and It doesnt look organized and when I feel like I am just maing it worst, I scratch it out.. Weird.
