In the Philippines, city pounds killed unclaimed strayed dogs by gas chamber. I pity for these animals for they feel a lot of pain before resting in peace. Don't you think, lethal injection is better?

Yes, I recently saw a video (I think on youtube) of a pound that was gassing many dogs including puppies.
They cried when the gas was on before becoming quiet.. I think this is not a good way for them to die.
