I am a Filipino.. Education is a big deal in our country. A lot of people say that if we have education, our lives will be better. Yeah. i think that is true..but i also think that most Filipinos study to get a good job. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, but i guess most of us would want to be a boss someday too.. right? so why not study to start a good business?? wouldn't that be better for us all?? opinions please.. :) thank you so much!

On my point of view, having a business is always a better option, but if you know nothing about handling one then it's worthless even if you have lots if money to invest. You should study first the nature of the business and do some feasibility on it. Many things to consider like the location, the infrastructures around it, etc.

If I had the choice, i would prefer to have a business of my own. i would love to be my own boss. That is the problem with having a job. you are doing something to further someone else's dreams. You are under the control of another person who you are constantly trying to please so you will get paid. Having your own dreams and following them would be ideal . You just can't follow your dreams in a job under someone else's thumb.

I personally prefer a business. My course is related to business and after I graduated I didn't work right away because my goal is to have a business. Unfortunately I didn't have the money and my family were not supportive. So I had no choice but to work.. I surely enjoyed it, had a hell lot of fun. But the business is really my passion. Even as an elementary student before, I tried to sell stuffs. So since I have earnings, I managed to put up a small time business (with a business partner) but still continued to work. But after some time, I quit my job because I can't deal with my bosses. I guess that's also one of the reason why I want to have a business, I want to be the boss. I want to be the one to manage no matter how stressful it would be.

Both have their different pros and cons..in business you need to be luck to have huge profit, your business should be unique else you have to face high competition and hence profit will be less, in job you can earn money but not very less than a good business...I prefer to do job coz a business need more investment and you should know what you want to make out of your business else all is waste ...MY opinion is you have some experience and money about a business then go ahead else it will be in loss....prefer a good job you can earn handsomely . :)

Doing a job wouls be like reserved whereas starting a buisness would be a risk unless u can get through it It involves too many tough times financially and time taking as every decison u take depnds on the profit u get! There would be a bright future if u get well setlled in a buisness but the conditions will be worse if u fail Job or a buisness depends on the caliber

a fall back job would really come in handy when you struggle with starting up a business or keeping it up and running.. i guess in every endeavor, we take risks..this one is just a physical one..and something that you can identify..financial risk.. :)

Business all the way my dear. There isn't anything wrong to get education but make sure that it will boost your skills in terms of running your own business instead of studying to work for a boss.It also depends because different strokes different folks is that right? But if you know for certain that your dream in life is to accumulate wealth then employment would be a wrong direction altogether. You can start start there for a short period of time because most people they end up making it a place of residence.Especially avoid commitments such as mortgages and Vehichle finances because they will steal your future. It will be difficult for you to resign and venture into the unknown world while paying either of the two above.

That depends of each capabilities and resources. If i had all the money and resources why should i need to work with other companies when i can build my own business. I guess no one wants to work 8 hours with minimum salary. Personally i want to be the boss and running my own business. But i don't have much money enough to start a big one. Currently i am doing a small business just to augment our income. Have a good day always

Hi there jolope, out of the 2 I would choose a good job everytime. I have had 2 businesses and each time I have had a lot of stress and worry. First, you have to get a good working team together that you can depend on Second, If anything goes wrong it is you who has to always find the solution and smooth the waters. Third, It is the boss/owner who has to deal with all the legalities involved in running a business. Fourth, the boss often has to work harder and longer hours to get a business up and running and has to invest a lot of capital with very little retuurn in the first 2 years of business. There are many other problems and logistic nightmares with running/owning a business. as well as sleepless nights where you can't switch off from work. At least if you are an empolee, you can... be sure of a regular wage at the end of every month. Start and finish at regular hours daily and work 5 days a week. Get annual holidays and lunch breaks. Plus more. No, I would definitely choose everytime to be the employee and at night go home and leave the work behind me and relax and enjoy the time with the family rather than have all the nightmares and problems that need a solution and none has been found at the end of the day.

Well, I think that depends on personal preference. I mean, some people would be totally happy with always being an employee. If they can fulfil all their needs and wants with this, then I why not take that route? But, if that is not enough, then I guess running your own business is the way to go. Also, some people aren't willing to take the risk of losing all their money in a business venture. So, in my opinion, I think you should do whatever makes you the happiest. If running a business to try and gain financial freedom is what you want, then go for it. If you are unwilling to take the risks and are quite content with what you already have, then that's the way to go. I would personally choose running a small (maybe online) business while working full-time. That way I can still support myself, while also making extra money on the side. Then if I can replace my employment income, then go all out with running the business!

I think a good business gives the freedom to grow and it works great for people who like to take risks and sometimes work on weekends and deal with employee management. If you can find a way to become your own boss and achieve your financial goals, I think that would be good. Being an employee isn't bad if you like the job you do and you're good at it and irreplaceable. You get to work 8-5 and you're home in the evenings and weekends. A doctor is usually an employee and doctors do pretty well in the U.S.A. A doctor can also own a hospital, in which case the liabilities would be much higher and so would the payroll, taxes, administrative and insurance costs, etc. For some people, the best job is to work online and make as much money as people working off line. It all depends on what you like but I'd think that most people really enjoy being employees, managers, supervisors and administrators without the associated risks of owning their own business.

Hi Jalope The reply to your question will depend on the person concerned. There are people who prefer to have a job while others are good at business and in fact have their own business. It is not a question on what is better, if you have a good business head then go for it and start a business but if you feel that you will do better in a job, then that is what you should do. Personally I would like to have my own business but I don't think that I am much business minded and so I think I have to stay in my job. Hope this helps.

The is no comparison,in my opinion, have the security of your own business is the Hi jolope, best out of the two. I worked for a company called Adobe Systems, made okay money and bonuses, but when I quit and started my own business, I never regreted the decision that I made. Some people don't want to take the chance of failure, so they stay in the security of a job working for a company for many year. Even if they are unhappy, they will stay because the can't or won't take a risk to lose their retirement package. You can still have a retirement package if you do the right investments with some of the money you make in your business. You have to set up retirement accounts that you cannot touch until you are at retirement age. There are so many perks in having your own business, lots of tax deductions are given to business owners, no boss breathing down your neck, vacations, travel, some tax-free. I don't knoe why more people don't become self employed. I am definitely planning to get into another business as soon as I can.

That is what I think. When I graduated from the high school, my only target was looking for a good job to support my family, even don't dream to be boss one day. Through several years work and work, I started to work for the employer, I should be more careful for my working, if boss doesn't have good emotion, maybe he will catch something to shout with you. Why boss can not care the employees feeling.Nowdays, I am thinking I should learn much knowledge and earn enough money to do business in the near future. Talked to develop business, it's very difficult, because you must fact many things, however if you are a worker, you only do the right job, don't need to worry how was the business going on. I think it is the big difference between employer and employee.

I think I would prefer having a business. I would want to be my own boss someday, and I dont think that it is hard to achieve. If you start now then you will not be far from your business dream. It doesn't necessarily have to be a big business right away. Like me, ever since I was a child I already liked doing a business. So now, I started with just a simple fundraising in my church. And my pastor and other church members are very supportive about it.
