What do we know about the spirit that 'may' live within each living body?

This is a question for people of all Christian religions and non-Christian as well. Have you ever given much thought about your spirit? I am not talking about the Spirit Of God or the Holy Ghost but your individual spirit. When Christ was about to die on the cross, He said: "Father, in thine hands I commend my Spirit" and he died. Christ asserted that he was read to die and give his spirit to his Father, God. Here are some questions: 1. How old is your spirit? 2. What size would it be, the same as your body? 3. What is made of? 4. How does it communicate with your brain and your mind? 5. Can it leave and come back as in NDRs? 6. What happens when it leaves your body permanently as in death

Tweetie, all excellent questions. Don't know what you mean by NDR I don't know the first five, but as to number 6, I don't think a spirit ever dissipates. I believe in reincarnation and feel our spirit always returns with us. My mother and a very good friend passed away last year. I feel them around me all of the time. Not just in dreams, but like they are actually with me. I think spirit is made from energy, we can't see it but we can feel it.

My understanding is that our earthly bodies are material and spirit isn't. I wouldn't think the spirit is anything but air. God breathed his breath into us. To me that's the spirit. I'm thinking in Heaven, as God is, we don't have marerial bodies with recognition, but only spirits.

The spirit would be as old as God is. Ageless.

As I understand it and I could be way off, God created the spirits at some point which would make God older than the creation of spiritual beings, spirits and other spiritual entities and things. Apparently these spirits were created out of a non-corporeal substances consisting of light and spiritual truth and each one was give a portion of enlightenment and truth, some more, some less which sort of explains the variety of differences among us in this life. Other spirits were created in angelic form such as Lucifer (Angel of the Morning),having great intelligence and power. According to the Bible, Satan along with 1/3 of the 'angels' were cast out of the place where all spirits lived with God and roam the earth as opponents to God's work and plans. Once the spirits were created, then, they became eternal. I'm not sure whether God will still destroy evil and wicked resurrected people at the Judgment Day by throwing them into outer darkness or oblivion as stated in the following Biblical references: Psalm 21:9, Psalms 37:20, Psalms: 37:38 and especially Psalms 68:2 along with many other biblical references. But I digress. Spirits are free agents so they can gain knowledge during their mortal life cycle, leave the body and move on to the eternities while they wait for the resurrection and the Judgment Day. Now, if none of this is true, then everything would be a fairly tale. Based on personal experiences, I have a strong belief that there is a spirit in man. Job 32:8 It would be interesting to know whether spirits that inhabit our bodies reflect our age or whether they've been one age since entering and departing mortal life, in other words, the same as they were before this existence.
