Do you try to make your food beautiful as well as yummy?

I do. I have found that so many things are liked just by how we see them. I will not serve a lot of food on a plate although I always have enough for seconds. I like to put different colours in my dishes, specially when I have company. I was talking about that with my youngest daughter a couple of days ago. She is still picky, although she is over 40. I showed her the seedlings that were sprouting and she saw raishes (so easy to grow anywhere!). I told her what they were and she answered she did not like them. Use them as a touch of red in your salad, I said. You don´t ear it but it looks better! Do you take some pains trying to make your dishes well presented? Or do you think that, as long as it is nutricious, it´s more than enough? Share!

I like to make my plates look pretty, I try to make the salad especially pretty by using really red tomaotoes and 2 different kinds of lettuce, I really enjoy trying to make the plates looking like they would if you were in a resatraunt.

Hi friend, Somehow this post got misplaced in my head and I never answered it. I love using different colours of lettuce. This Summer I planted the red type and took out a couple of leaves everyday for my lettuce sald. Now the tomatoes are red-red and they look (and taste) awesome.

I try to, but I am not very good at this at the moment. My cooking usually comes out yummy, but I don't always manage to make it look pretty. But this is something I am definitely working on, since I think it is really important!

It´s a matter of trying and not putting too many things on a plate.

I like to add some color to my food. I have parsley in a flower pot and basil in another and they add both taste and color. Green peas, yellow corn and red sweet pepper give even more color..

No problem I had forgotten having answered this post.. I wish I could go to the southern hemishphere when we have winter here. And then go back to our summer here when it starts.. I love tomatoes that have got enough of sun as they taste so good and sweet. Enjoy your summer, it is your turn now!!

I'm not that bothered about presentation of food, I'm more concerned about the taste personally. But if you try and include a lot of vegetables meals usually turn out very colourful anyway, it just nature. I've never added ingredients just for their colour it's usually about flavour, I grow my own chilli's though and have some varieties that grow in lots of different colours. There are purple ones and black ones, and one plant will even grow pink and white ones. They will add unusual colours to my dishes when they are ready to use.

MysDianait´s pepperonata - THe pepperonata was Mysdianait´s idea. The rest was mine. It´s a very nice Summer dish.
I love a good presentation besides a good taste of course. I asked here about ideas for some green tomatoes and one of my friends gave me a recipe. I took a picture to show her how I had done it but also set the table nicely to that it was as nice as posible.

I actually do not do it, but I marvel at people who take time to do it. Sometimes they make ordinary food get their glory and appeal to people to eat them. It is just so wonderful to see people with creative mind to do that. You are one of those people and good for you. I guess people might enjoy your food.

I don´t thinks it´s so hard to beautify a meal. I´m posting some salds at home for a meal with friends. The small green onions and a nice bowl is all there is to it.

When i was first learning to cook, i worried about the presnece and appearance of my meals. Now i just care about the nutritional value. If my plate looks beautiful, that is just an added bonus to me.

I always focus in making the food yummy and forget about the beauty, that means forgeting that we also eat with our eyes :D But in special ocasions there are more food varieties and they look really good, that's why my camera is always with me in special ocasions. I don't know why but I love taking these beautiful foods'pictures, I have cakes, pies'pictures...
