why do people do this?

A 78-year-old lawyer got recently hammered to death in our place. The motive was they said, robbery or theft, since the killer ran away with his cellphone, money,and other belongings. The primary suspect is their carpenter who was doing some work in the house. The old lawyer was left alone in the house when the terrible incident happened. The victim's children arrived and found their father's body in the septic tank wrapped around a blanket. This happening has angered many people. I have begun to ask questions as to why people do this for some lowly reasons as money or cellphone. What's in the brains (if they have that at all)of these criminals? The criminal-carpenter was seen half-naked (didn't have a shirt on) while fleeing the place. He is described to be between 30-40 years old and sports long hair. Do you think such a crime could have been prevented? How can one even find safety in one's home when you have people like that in your house supposedly doing some work for you? It's scary.

This is very sad,but is really happening everywhere.
People who kills for the sake of small things,small amount of money,cellphones or camera.
It is becoz,this world of modernization is also making some people become more evil.
We don't have any control to prevent such things to happen.
We just need to be more extra careful when dealing strangers or with new neighbors or people who are not familiar in us.
We can never tell that our house is safe when robbers attack.
Let's just hope and pray that,those criminals (bad people) will be caught and serve the punishment they deserve for harming innocent people.

I think it is the police would need to do more to avoid such thing happen again. We have quite limited power to avoid such accidents. But some pre-caution measures could be taken to lower the risk for such accidents, such as be careful when you are alone at home, seldom go out later alone, etc.

It's a terrible crime when the elderly are abused in such a way. You have to wonder what goes through people's minds. i think they single out the elderly for such abuse because they are less willing to fight back. We should have respect for the elerly. Msking them a victim because it was easy is intolerable. Punishments for attacks on the elderly should be more severe. What kind of world do we live in when things like this can happen?

I don't like it when these kinds of things happen I just don't. I don't know why crimes like these have to go on it's really sad how this happens like everyday somewhere in the world. Yes we are powerless in such occasions police officers really hold a lot of the power. I want to become a police officer so that I can help protect people from all the crimes out there.

who knows what people are up to these days.. life is hard and so people who are so hopeless dare do things that are not acceptable like killing someone, and then robbing them. different crimes have different motives, and yes we are thinking how could people even think of hurting someone, much more kill them when they are helpless and old like this lawyer. We can never really be safe wherever we go, and maybe that is a sad reality, that even in our homes we too are not safe.

It is downright scary.If old people are staying alone it is better they live with a security guard or in a locality where there are plenty of people around.This incident i feel is the result of old people being left alone by their children.Though there are many disadvantages of grandparents living with their children, i feel this is one incident which would never have happened if the children were patient enough to live with their elderly parents.

The thing is that for some reason nobody can stop crime, they don't care about their families when they are committing the crime, they should really think twice before doing something because they are not only hurting that person but they whole family as well as they own.
