What do you think of macs? they're powerful yet expensive... sometimes it's better than a regular PC... but why do people hate it? I mean mac or windows you have a computer... I'm really confused about it... each of them have their own pros and cons but come to think of it... they're different OS for different uses... and it depends on the person right? well... I think they're great competitors... I suggest though to use both OS and see for yourself than judge the thing you haven't used

I am going to buy a Mac. I do not have all the money for it, but most of it, and the reason is that we have had about six Window PCS and eventually they all go. Then I have to transfer the files to the new Pc. There are all those upgrades. The Mac is more expensive but for a creative person like me it is better. I did pick up a couple of books on Mac, the usual Mac for Dummies (there is no Mac for people who think they know it all, but that is their loss and another about operating the Macbook Pro. I hope to have gotten enough money to buy it soon and there are no other expenses coming up in the meantime.

I am always pressing the wrong key on the Windows 7 laptop, and of course deleting my discussions. So when I went into my local computer stores and checked out the Macs and saw how simple the keyboards were, well that made it a definite buy. So I ordered my Macbook Pro from Apple. Got the one with the 17 inch screen (us slightly far sighted people have that excuse that we need it.) I got one with the 256 stainless steel hard drive. I would have gotten the one with the largest hard drive, but then I had to figure out the gst and pst that we have to pay here in Canada and I do have an external hard drive that I can use. It should arrive next week.

yo! suspenseful that's a spirit!! go! go! go! hahahahaha.. I'm like you also, before I bought this iMac of mice, almost 2 years ago. Macs are not actually for creative people only. But for those people who are more creative, more productive and having a more healthy lifestyles. Life are just simple and has a lot of common sense when using Macs.

Well you can't blame them from what they are choosing for, if that is what they wanted to use comfortably and satisfied. But the real question is how long it will last the comforts and satisfactions. To tell you straight and right digidon, PC last just about a six months, a one year later is longer enough, and a more longer, the user is already immune from comfortless and dissatisfactions, already numb to choose or to move to other solutions or the PC user is already insensible to try much more comforts and satisfactions including trying the best solution or to have an Apple Mac computers. The real sad about is that the World of PC including the Operating System of MS Windows has no longer the sense to innovate technologies they just only now following or copying what Apple, Inc. doing on their technologies of Mac computers and other Apple brands. I suggest for you, don't use just to test two different worlds PC and Apple Macs because you will just wasting your time, money and patience. You have to choose only one computer technologies i.e. just PC only or just Apple Macs. I'm a PC MS Windows users for more than 10 years, but now I have chose to use Apple Macs computer technologies for the rest of my computer life. I will not ever going back to PC MS Windows.

i have not used a Mac till now but let me put some points. 1.I am a student and lot of my programming stuffs are related to MS Windows. 2.I have an option to go for c, c++, Java, Qt, c# With .NET Framework. 3.I have lot of books related to Windows programming for MS Windows rather than Mac. 4.Usually Windows machines are using Intel Processor and loading another OS like Ubuntu into the machine is really possible. But in Mac you really do not have an option to use other OS. 5.Windows programming in C# and .NET framework is quiet easier than developing it for a Mac OS with some number of c++ APIs. 6.If I learn c# I can program my Windows mobile too. 7.Porting .NET to other operating systems is under process so it is really useful to learn that. Finally If you buy a Windows machine with the same price you have spent for a Mac you can find a really powerful machine.( I remember a guy who opened atleast 250 Firefox tabs in a Dell Laptop which was running a Windows 7 64 bit edition OS, but still there seemed to be no problem at all)

All programming stuffs is doable on a one single Apple Mac computer system. You'll just add screen monitors and external hard drives without producing or buying more CPU boxes. You can easily have different worlds Linux, MS Windows, Mac OS X on just one single box, you can run different Operating Systems side by side simultaneously. Just what I suggested to you, you have to choose to use or be loyal now to just one computer system PC World or Apple World because naturally there would always be a tendency you going to choose or use only one system and forgetting or missed-out to use the other system, and waste money, consumptions, maintenance, patience and more. (Prior to, if you intending to use or test multiple computers systems PC and Apple). BUT if you will just only on Apple computers system the solutions are simple, many options to choose, stable and secured. Any and every computer systems has limitations on processing it can slow or just stop working. Any or every best computer users or programmers must always be responsible balancing memory processing work flow or traffic to avoid bottlenecking and memory leaks. Sorry for this one, C# and .NET is quiet easier if you can produce money on your PC MS Windows system or just use pirated versions (which is not a very good economically or market wise). C# and .NET are for MS Windows systems only, where users always saying Apple Macs are more expensive, but not really the case, (programming, consumptions, administrating and maintenance) on MS Windows systems is much costly expensive. You got a cheaper hardwares on PC but the cost of applications are expensive (i.e. Operating System Ms Windows is not a cheap), unless you are patronizing pirated softwares. So if you gonna use pirated softwares (on a PC) and your a programmer or developer you have to think twice if you gonna have money on your products. There are a lot more programmers or developer get bankrupt on MS Windows than on Apple. Take note on MS Windows is a per client and user cost o softwares especially on software application development including wide system administration, on Apple we don't have per client and user for programming or developing applications even on administrating wide system. On network Apple administration system, we just add workstations or clients with no additional cost for network administrating clients or users. How about searching on the 12 year old kids who can produce, developed and earn a lot of money on applications or games for iPhones or other iOS platforms. In other words, you can produce and develop applications on Apple that is cheaper, easier, simple and powerful. The very basic for Apple programming is just by learning and understanding the very classic C. Upon learning C, next step is Objective-C then C++ or Java, then into different applications including web developments. The C, C++, Java are UNIVERSAL (C# and .Net are not universal) programming languages they are simple but you have already the edge, you can apply them on any or every different kinds of technologies. The Objective-C is for experiencing totally Apple technologies. Regular development tools are free and provided by Apple for those who like to develop applications and can produce money. By just only begin to learn C can open or paved way to more options of possibilities and solutions, basically and primarily all popular programming languages are based on C, like objective-C, C++, Java, including MS Windows C# and .Net, also web developments. Operating Systems also based on C like UNIX, Linux, Mac OS, MS Windows and much more. If you are indulging on Apple for developing applications you have a lot possible clients around the globe, because they are the one who has the power to buy Apple products. If they buy Apple products they will surely buy your developed applications if they are good and has sense to have. How many? About more than a billion users, groups, company around the globe of Apple Macs, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPads and many more.

very good points! do you guys suggest that I dual boot instead? Mac and Windows at the same time to get the best of both worlds? In terms of programming... yeah PC is needed to do the .NET Framework... Mac is superior in terms of innovation though but PC has many uses as well... now I'm confused... :( well... for a change I might buy a Mac and see the results... :)

I own a PC too. I like it better. But macs are usually more powerful but they are not made for gaming. Many designers and artists use the because of their power and everything is ready when you buy it.

You have a point there... thanks for the input.. maybe it depends on the purpose of buying a computer I suppose
