Why do hair shampoo commercial models always have long straight hair?

Do you ever notice shampoo commercials on tv? The model is always a girl with a long straight hair. So I wonder, why can't they make a commercial with a girl with a curly hair. That will probably make people believe that their product is good. How about you fellow mylotters, why do you think they always choose girls with long and straight hair instead of curly ones?

Oh yeah, I noticed that too. Whenever I watch a fashion show at tv. They're all too skinny, but in real life, there are more people that are not as skinny as them. Ends up, other people gets envy, well unless they're proud of their body.

I was under the impression that if they show women with straight, flowing long hair more women would be tempted to use the product.Straight long hair is thought the ideal. But from your discussion i can gather that any form of hair well maintained is adequate to show on commercials.I think you've raise a very valid point, whether the hair is curly or wavy doesn't matter. What matters is that it should be well maintained and neat.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I think it does not matter if it's curly as long as it looks good, well maintained and neat looking. Some women likes curly hair too.

It's to show off the selling qualities of the shampoo. Long straight hair shows details such as shine, bounce, and fall better than short hair. Also it is easier to maintain a look with long hair because of the weight. Short hair needs to be constantly fixed.

I actually dislike the hair of shampoo commercial models. Their hair is always very straight, like broomsticks. I like hair that has body and little curves. I don't want a very straight hair because it looks very dull. Plus, a hair that's that straight looks unnatural. Maybe many people like that kind of hair, but I really don't.

I guess because girls specially in our country aspires to have long straight hair, I mean that is what most people see as really beautiful, although I would personally prefer to have curly hair rather than long limp hair. Hehehehe. I guess we are still in love with the idea of rebonding and straightening, but when we finally move on to curly hair love affair, I assure you, you won't see any straight haired girl in any of the shampoo commercials. Hehehe.

because they normally want to let the people see that their products are effective, since if you have straight long hair people will see immediately if the product is good or not, unlike if the hair is short or curly, the effect is not that quite obvious. With long straight hair, you'll immediately see that from tangled and damaged hair, then after using their product, the hair is now straight and smooth or shiny something like that... God bless (",)

Yeah, I notice that. I have a curly hair and whenever I have a new haircut, no one notices. So I guess, straight hair is really effective then.

I think those who have really long hair can project the "thing" about having a nice hair. But there are also some models who have short hair and also models with curly hair in shampoo commercials here in our country.

I think we only have long straight hair commercial models for shampoo's. I guess it will be a challenge for them to prove that the shampoo is effective with ones with curly hair.

Because it's the best way to show the shampoo's qualitie. Although is all fake, they do straight iron and perm before the commercial :D

I know that a lot of the commercials do have long straight hair, but some of them do have women with other types of hair. I think it really depends on the type of shampoo as well as the brand. If it was shampoo that is supposed to make curly hair curlier and more sleek, they wouldn't put a woman in the commercial that had straight hair. And it goes for the other way around as well.

Obviously, they made it because it is attractive. Many girls want to have a long and straight hair. Straight and long hair is dominant than curly hair, that's why they choose the model whose have long straight hair.
