Working hard vs. Working smart

I've spent most of the morning going through discussions on the "make extra money" topic and have concluded that making money on the internet is much harder than it sounds. Most of time participants have reported making a few bucks here and there over what it seems like eternity to me. What's gotten my interest the most is not a whole lot of people have posted referral links to the sites that they have made money on. I've gone to other social networking sites and posted referral links to MyLot hoping that these links will start making money for me... even when I'm not working. Anyone can spend lots of hours a day clicking on PTC sites and just make cents for a whole days work. I guess the smart way is to have referrals and earn from them.

Ideally, that's the purpose of having more referrals. That, they make your work easier and yet achieve a higher revenue. However, things don't normally work the way we envisioned them. Most of the time these referrals just join sites and are not very active after a while.

Earning by referrals seems to be the most logical thing to do if you want to earn more for less work. But merely posting your referral link to your website or blog wont get you any response. You still need to work on promoting your site. At the end of the day, still a lot of work to be done.

I think it is better to be a smart worker. Anyone can be a hard worker if they want to be. The only problem with that is you could still end up with nothing. If you work smart, you will find more success and happiness in your life.

Hi akonangato! Absolutely! That's working smart. For the same amount of time I work here or in the real world I'm always looking for ways to double my income which should all add up to working smart and make my time worth spending.

I agree that is more easier to earn with referrals, but is very hard to get them. Many person who I tried to convince to sign up, haven't seemed interested, and that is why is very hard to gain referrals. Hope that I will gain lots of them, I am making a plan, it is not finished yet, and see if I will succeed with my plan.

It's hard to get a referrals, and getting them active is much harder. Referrals, whether paid or free, we have to put the same effort. So, my preference would be to make a sale to a person (paid referral). There are two reasons: 1) Having paid, he/she will be active. 2) Even if he/she is not active, we get commission for our sale. But, so far I didn't find any program worthy to sell. (I want the product should also be useful.)

getting referrals is a great way of earning faster but it is hard to find active referrals. i have basically given up on searching for active referrals for most sites because i know alot of the people who i have referred will more than likely give up so i just spend my time just earning on my own now.

Excellent thought and it does not require you to sit be sitting in front of the computer and going cockeyed too. But then posting link referral are also time consuming as most of them time they will be taken off and then you need to redo it, better still to use your social networking to gain more referrals.

I feel you, this isn't a way to make an income or get rich but its fun, when you can do it and you're doing things you do anyway. so don't expect a whole income from it that will never get you anywhere, just have fun with it.

Working smart whether online or regular job is a good thought. It's not a waste of time as long as you like and enjoy what you're doing.
