This is a nice song. And one lyric from this song is: The Doggone Girl Is Mine. I looked up the dictionary and it seems that the word "doggone" is a bad word. However, this song is nice and I don't understand why this word will be used here. Perhaps this word has another meaning?

Doggone is a mild bad word. It is one of those words used Instead of a more harsh word. In the song I think he meant it as a way of saying she is naughty not Bad. It wasn't say with hatred. I hope this makes Sense. I swear English is the hardest language!

I learned some French before and I think French is much more difficult than English

I studied French . It was easier for me than English. The rules of grammar made more sense. But then again English uses many French words.I would love to learn how write Chinese.It is so beautiful.

Yes it is a bad word, but better than using other bad words....It is just an expression in the song to point out that he is madly or deeply owns the girl. It is like when you fight for someone you own, you cannot control saying a bad word for emphasis...That is why...

doggone means damn.. it's like saying that he owns that damn girl or something, nit can also pertain to a girl that is so hard to get, that owns now... maybe the girl is wild, bad or something, and he expresses like the girl is his.. and in the song, he is like telling someone that he owns a girl, he used the word doggone like saying that is bloody mine, or damn she's mine.. an expression, not used literally.

Hi, youless. Actually, "doggone" is a NICE way to say what could be a bad word. Children can say this word without fearing punishment from adults. English can be quite confusing. We have bad words and we have words that substitute for bad words so that nice people can say them. Doggone is one of them. Danged is another. So is blasted or flipping or stinking. All of these words could be used in place of doggone without fear of offending anyone. You needn't worry about this being a "bad" word. It actually replaces what would be a bad word for people who don't want to say the bad word.

when it comes to music and creativity, the words cease to have their dictionary meaning. They are put there to meet the rhythm, the beats and the song. Maybe this is one of the reasons that this word was used in the all time great MJ's song - The Girl Is Mine. It is one of my favorites from the King of Pop MJ
