College Degree is not worth too much money or attraction. Even many people get out of of university still need to study many skills to get a proper job. I know some of my friend got college degree but now working for an 8$/hour job Sure in the past it has great effects but not now in the presence when there're thousand of people have college degree. Companies're starting to realize that they need someone have skills more than just a stupid degree

But companies are still favouring people with degrees. They prefer those with that paper. They are willing to pay more just to get that type of talent.

yes!I agree with you!a good opinion! In china,we can get a good chance to work if you study in university, and you also get a chance to stay in city in the past. But it maybe the history.now more and more students join in university and graduate form it.it's a fact that dozens of people compete a job even hundreds of people!i only earn 3ooo per month althougt i graduate from university! But you want to get a good job,you must study hard to join university!i think you can earn much more money if you both have degree and expeience, and skill is also important!now i graduate from university two years, learn more skill is my work!i will try my best! This is not the end,it is started!

I think a degree is very important in life. It is so hard to get a good job as it is, but without schooling it is even harder. I only have one regret in life and that is that I didn't get some kind of degree. I only completed grade 10 and then I got pregnant and back in the 1970's it was frowned upon to go to school when pregnant or with a child. So I was forced out of high school and then I was a single parent and couldn't go back. And then as I got older I could never afford to go back plus I didn't know what I would want to take. I am now 54 years old and could afford to go back to school but I don't know to do what. I don't have any passions as far as the work force goes, I just wish I was a professional in something so I wouldn't have to work so hard like I do. I clean houses for a living and I'm self employed and make decent money, it's just so hard is all. So I think if anyone has the opportunity to go to school and earn a degree, than they should do it.

Well it is always good to be educated but sadly there are some cases that a college degree is not always worth the money. Many college graduates are unemployed while some of them are just forced to take jobs that does not require a college degree. Now in these cases, don't you think the money they spent to get their college degree was somewhat wasted?

I already have a college degree, I passed the board examination and here I am still a volunteer. So sad that so many nurses in my country chooses to be a call center agent rather than being a nurse. Why? Because newly registered nurses need to be a volunteer first before they get a real job. And how much do they pay nurses? Below minimum. :(

Yes, I do believe! I finished my college in a reputable university and It's really an investment. Of course, after college, we need to train ourselves to find a job. Join some seminars or free training to develop our skills.

Depends on the degree. If you have a Psychology degree, a business degree, a math degree, a science degree, an education degree, or any degree that makes money, then it is totally worth the money you have to pay. On the other hand, if you have a Mickey Mouse Degree such as "Music Business" or, and I hate to say this because I have friends with this degree, "Fine Arts", then no, it is not worth the money that you are paying for it. Also, the university that you go to makes a world of difference. If you are going to a state university or a prestigious private university, then your degree is worth everything that you invested in it, but if you went to a online college or a college like "American Career College", then your degree probably isn't worth much. It is all about what degree you have and where it came from.

I believe it can really help as long a the young person thinks long and hard to choose a field that they intend to work in all their working life. Too many young people make the wrong choice and later in life their college degree doe not help them at all.

A College Degree isn't equal the ability, but in this society, the only thing we need is a chance to change. It's impossible to let others know your abitily at a short time, but the College Degree could show you had got a high education, so you will have more chance to improve your life if you got a College Degree.

Yes and No. It depends on your course load, what you've learned, and combining your skills with this education that tells how much you'll earn. I went to college and I still owe a lot of money. I use the education and combine it with my skills to survive. Sometimes for some folks like me, it takes time to get results. In this world nowdays, the competition is fierce which is why you learn everything you can and be creative. Luck also has something to do with it. But if you have bad luck, you can still use your knowledge and skills to move on.

I think it all depends on what kind of degree you get like is their a high demand for people with that kind of degree. Also some people have degree and still have problems getting a good job while other people that do not have a degree make more money.

I'm kind of neutral about it. It's good for expanding your knowledge and for getting a good paying and well called job, but other than that it's not very much worth it. So I'd say for those who want to be something 'more', earn more to be able to spend more and be wiser too it's definitely worth it. For those who are a bit lazy and don't give much though to their job or expanding general knowledge its not, so in which category you fall, you decide. I'm a bit of a both.

Please do not compare knowledge with money. Education can help you out in any circumstances. A good degree or post graduation will help you through out your life. It develops your personality. Getting proper education is worth all the hardwork and money you spend on it. Ask the value of education to a person who lost a great job for which he was completely eligible just because he did not have a Degree. Or ask those poor students who are not able to study as their parents cannot afford to educate them. Please go ahead and study as much as possible. Happy learning!!!

With the development of our society, more and more people choose to pay more attention to one's ability instead of college degree. Of course, this trend doesn't mean that we can pay no attention to college degrees. It is a fact that many companies are still favouring people with their famous college degrees. That is to say, compared with the degree in the past decades, college degrees are not worth the money again, but they are still useful when people hunt for jobs.

The return on your investment in a college education can be difficult to measure. If you major in the sciences, there is often a more direct link between your education and employment. If you major in the arts, the situation gets fuzzy. I was a poli sci major, and none of my jobs have been directly related to my higher education. However, having a BA from a world renowned university is definitely a plus. So at the end of the day, it is difficult to know whether you would be working at a particular job had you not earned the degree. Overall, I think getting a degree is worthwhile, but if you are going to be $100,000 in debt after getting your diploma, you might want to think twice. The cost of tuition, reputation of the school & marketability of the knowledge & skills you acquire must all be taken into consideration.
