You could buy a cute little house for about $12,000 and a brand new car for about $3000? Oranges were 89 cents for 2 dozen, and turkeys were 39 cents a pound? Smiley faces became popular and two surfer guys in California invented the skateboard? The Beatles and Rolling Stones gained worldwide fame? Perry Mason, Lassie, Flipper, Bonanza, and Gilligan's Island were popular TV shows? Chicken was 29 cents a pound, and ground beef was 45 cents a pound? Ice cream was 79 cents a half gallon and chewing gum was 5 cents a pack? Oh...and sugar was 5 pounds for 38 cents? tab opening cans were invented, and we started eating Domino's Pizza, Pop Tarts, Lucky Charms, Cool Whip, Wendy's, and Long John Silver's? Now, I know a lot of you mylotters are far too young to remember these things, because the decade was the 1960's, but you older mylotters will remember. Did I bring back any memories?

I remember when it was a dime for a 16 oz glass bottle, and you got money back when you returned the bottle. I used to get in the movies for 25 cents.

Yeah, I was just a little kid, but I do remember most of those prices. I lived on and Island so some of them were higher. Life was safer and more free then too. Kids didn't have the Internet so they had to use their imagination...We built forts and played ball in the streets when all the Father's got home from work. Interesting... Shalom~Adoniah

Hello :) I don't remember that times, my parents told me that in Bulgaria years ago prices was less and the quality was better, now if you want to buy something cheap, it will be total crap :D But i really wish our happiness do not depends of the price. And our families to be happy, all of us to have enough to live with ... It's not so much. Just normal thing in the life. :(
