Today is 65th Indonesia Independence day. Yes, we have been free for 65 years. Do we really free? Do we free from colonialism? Perhaps, but there is others kind of colonialism. We are still far away from our goal. 65 years is not short time. But why we can't reach our goal? Come on my friends, share your thought about our independence day here. What is it mean to you? Feel free to share your thought here .

Of course, I do agree with you. We should celebrate our independence day. We should appreciate our heroes who have sacrifice their self to reach this freedom from colonialism. Thanks to the God for this freedom. However, we are in new colonialism. This nation is colonized by its own people. Many of us never appreciate our heroes. Many of us take advantage from other people just for their self. In justices is everywhere, injustice is in every fields. Many people are still far away from prosperity and in other hand, little people live in glamor. I think new capitalism create new colonialism. How could we get our freedom?

Don't you know? Corruption, collusion and nepotism are kind of colonialism. This country colonized by its own people. It's ironic. Capitalism is kind of new colonialism. There are new colonialism in many aspect of life. Colonialism in culture, economic, and legal. Unfortunately, most of us didn't realize it. Most of our government officials didn't understand the meaning of proclamation. They never appreciate their heroes at all. Policy maker of this country never followed what have done by our heroes. They just thought about their interest.

Hi de_toya!. I think we all not truly free, at least nit from poverty. I can see how many people living above living standard. They life without electricity and roads access. After 65 years and another country already do a quantum leap we are still struggle from the same problem. I don't really know what our leader for, they seem not do any work. we have many resources but many of us struggle to get a decent life.

You've got the point! I do agree with you. We aren't really free at all. There are more than 200 million people in Indonesia. You know, how many percent of them enjoy better life? Many of us who live far from prosperous. 65 years our country has been ruled by their own people but they has failed to reach the goal. There is no commitment from our leader to make this country better than other. While others country move forward, this country actually runs backwards .

Yeah, at least we are not in real war. There is others war that we have to fight in order to reach our goal. War to new colonialism. The war against ignorance, injustice, corruption, collusion, nepotism, and terrorist. War to reach real freedom, peace and prosperity for whole people in this country. the war to realize the ideals of the proclamation. Free!

yes, this independence can really be enjoyed because we have no more wars. For me, I remain a colonized people I do not have the freedom to live. I can not enjoy this life for myself. I must be a person who behaved, although the heart says no but my mouth to say yes.

Yeah, no real war but we are still colonized. We are colonized by our own brother. It's very ironic. Good clean government is just a dream.

If the Indonesian nation is said to be free from colonialism, it's true Indonesi nation was free from colonialism. This in theory. Here is a free country, not the people of Indonesia. Many people are colonized by a nation like his own. A lot of injustice in this country. Small sample and many a wife who happens is colonized by a husband who is not responsible. Anything else we now occupied by the gas cylinder. There are many forms of colonialism in our country, and I am sure this is not only happening in our country. In other countries would also experience the same thing.

Yes you are right. We are free from colonialism but there are many kind of colonialism. It's ironic, this nation is colonized by its own people. There are many injustices in the economic and legal. Justice is not for all. Justice is for rich people only. Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism is rampant in this country. Is it our new culture ? It's new colonialism. New colonialism that more cruel and greedy than real colonialism. Oh, God, when will this country will free?
