I'm not that keen on laptops either! I know that they can be very convenient in terms of taking them out and about but otherwise that's about it. When you buy a new laptop it's a good idea to make sure that it comes with a warranty and when this warranty eventually expires it's a good idea to renew it and keep on renewing it. Laptops have very limited upgrade capability. I prefer desktops over laptops as you can go inside and see what is what! I do my own maintenance and upgrades and I'm a qualified IT Technician in anycase! As I have these skills I'm not too worried about having a warranty on my desktop as I tend to do everything myself now. That's certainly true regarding laptop keyboards! They are very small and it's very difficult to any kind of serious typing. I'm not that keen on the imitation mousepad either! I think that everyone is different and I choose to remain with a desktop always! Andrew

The laptop is used for out of the house, when you are outside you have no computer to use, laptop is one of the best choose,I admit the screen is small, the keyboard is small ,but think of the cellphone ,it's smaller isn't it,but sometimes it's useful.

Hi tkonlinevn, I find it's was quite difficult to type on the smaller keyboard when I worked on my son's laptop. I was happy with my desktop with bigger keyboard as well as lcd screen. Once my sister sent her laptop to my house for safety purpose before leaving for her oversea vacation. I felt reluctant to surf net using her laptop for I was accustomed with desktop. It's unfortunate that my internet connection was interrupted in a sudden one day. The service was not restored as usual even the isp was hastened many times. I felt really annoyed and took my sister laptop and rushed to the nearby bakery cafe and got on the internet then. After spending several hours working on the laptop there I then found myself was familiar with its functioning. And the keyboard seemed no longer smaller anymore. And I could run my fingers freely and rapidly on it relaxingly. after some time I purchased myself a 14.1 in laptop during on sale season. Since then I seldom used my old desktop which was good in its condition anymore. And I passed it to my elder brother three months back. At the moment I enjoy working and surfing web on my personal laptop. I take it along with me when I go on local vacation or go to outstation as well. I could enjoy online life at any time with this portable device as long as there is wifi service available. Happy posting

I am the opposite. I like laptop more than the desktop. Today the laptop is less expensive. I don't find the difference to type on it. I like it is smaller than the desktop. It won't use up much space like the desktop. My desk can be full if I use the desktop. I love China

Hi tkonlinevn! You might just change your mind if you consider how portable, mobile and convenient laptops are. You can do some work out of the office or at home but instead under a shady tree in the park while listening to your favorite music. Try working on them for sometime. Or get one with a larger screen if you are fully satisfied.

For me personally, i dont know what i would do without my laptop. I am at uni, and i take it into lectures with me, and i type up what the lecture says (i am a fairly quick typer you see). I agree that PC's are better (cost wise, you can get better quality, etc etc) but a pc wouldnt suit my needs. I would like a decent spec pc for playing cs though...

Some are small screens yes, I have a netbook that has a 10.1" screen and yes it is small but it is great. My brother has a laptop that is a 17" and is quite large too large for me, a laptop is small and compact and meant to be so. It also has a full keyboard. Laptops are electronics you have to take care of all electronics no matter what they are or they will break.

hi ofcourse laptops are very small i agree wth u bt it is nt in all cases it dependa upon the model wghich u selected and depend upon ur model it varies.but if u take nly one reason to dislike it then its a wrng opinion why bx=cz technology has been improving day-day and clients are xpected more and more flexibilty so, let us imagine a laptop wth a big screen and a lopt of weight??? is it user comfortable to handle it or take it where ever he wants its highly impossible and n=o one prefer it also. so tht's why cmpanys are launching a default screen of 145.6 which is enough fr both traveling and also watching thnx fr all

You decide what to like and what not, but about the screen. I think it's not small. It actually depends on what laptop you have. If it's a notebook, then the screen is small, yes. But if it's not notebook then the screen is almost as large as a normal computer.
