Do you have Facebook fatigue?

I admit that there was a time I was hooked on my activities in Facebook. I was invited one day and did not pay attention until I learned that you can track your old high school and college friends through Facebook. That was the start of it. My interest to see my classmates in high school and college drove me to participate and use the social networking site to track them down. (I do not sound like an FBI or a CIA agent, don't I?) I was able to get in contact with many friends and classmates. In fact, we will be having a high school get together today. Thanks to Facebook. But lately, I am having Facebook fatigue. Before it takes me until the wee hours of the morning to 'stalk' (ha ha ha) and to exchange news thru chat. Currently, I lost it all - the enthusiasm and excitement. Maybe this is just a fad that goes away or dies after a while. Or maybe it is just a tiring activity that gives you fatigue. What says you?

Ha Ha, Facebook fatigue i like that. I am new to facebook and i started for the same reasons you did. In the neighborhood i grew up in, a annual reunion is held for all those that grew up together and want to keep in touch. Recently one of my high school buddies introduced me to the website on facebook dedicated to reuniting us. I spent an entire night on the site getting in contact with people i have not seen for 40 years and it felt good. But the reality is that i don't have the kind of time to do this regularly and so I guess i got the facebook fatigue after only one night. People are attempting to contact me and i answer when i have the time. Does not sound so good but its the truth. I think its more a matter of having moved on and cannot remained tied to the past. I do know that times like christmas i will be sending more cards than I have all my life. But the daily routine simply does not allow me the luxury of chating for hours with old friends.

I am not on facebook as much as I used to be. I check it once a day now because I am doing the money making sites instead. I am here and there and using sidetick, mylot and mypage5 to try and make extra money. I used to be on facebook every day several times a day but it is still a nice site. It is just that I would rather be making money so I come here instead. I have found some old friends on facebook for that it was nice. I still enjoy it there but I just don't have as much time for it.

On looking for friends - yes. I'm not very good at people's names. So I track them down through my other friends. On tracking someone I like - well, I get over the feeling. It just takes hours to just a few days. Opening my Facebook - not really. I play at Facebook. So it doesn't bore me at all.

You and me both girl. I have it on my blackberry and was like you had to check all day, all night and even while driving. But since January I completely lost interest. Although my blackberry beeps with new incoming messages, I kid you not that I can have well over 300 alerts daily and I do not even look. I sit and take a moment every so often and delete them all. Lost my flavor it, and tell me why my well over 400 direct acquaintances and family members do not wonder what the heck is going on with me or if I am still alive. hmmmm...

Yes, I'm going through the same thing you are. I used to be on Facebook from the moment I wake up until I sleep. But now it seems like I can go a day without facebook. Or maybe just check it once a day. Hahaha! Maybe because I only use my pc to get to FB. If I used it on mobile phone I probably be still so caught up in it. Hey, what a coincidence! I'm having a get together with my college classmates tonight as well. We have this monthly get together just to eat at a different resto and catch up on each other's lives. We even planned it through PMing on FB. We're going to eat Persian cuisine tonight. Enjoy your get together!

I am also guilty of getting on Facebook to find old friends from high school. My husband doesn't understand "why?" I would contact people who never even thought or looked for me. Oh well it's nice to see some of my close friends who might live far away and have children of their own now. I admit that I am not so much into the whole Facebook thing at times. I used to read everyone's comment but now I kind of find that they have other people they keep more in contact with than me so I kind of dropped it.
