Hello mylotters, There is one topic that hit my mind suddenly while I was dealing with a police officer. I saw one man standing near me who was caught by the officer for breaking the signal and then to add to his trouble, he did not even have a license. He had to face several difficulties and a huge fine was levied on him and he was later taken to police station. I don't know what happened after that. The next day while I was passing by the same place, I saw another man breaking the signal. He was also caught by the official but he did not face any difficulty as he bribed the official by giving him a hundred rupees! I still can't believe that someone can so easily get away after doing a crime. I don't know whether this happens in serious crimes or not. Does anyone here has witnessed a someone getting away after doing a serious crime?

Corruption among policemen is due to low salaries and benefits. They cannot be blamed for taking bribes as their incomes simply isn't enough for the maintenance of their families. Though corruption among lower level is somewhat understandable but highly officials and politicians have only one reason to be corrupt and that is GREED.

Hahahha hello dear friend, yes, you are right i have seen so many cases like this too. in India and Pakistan corruption is very common so they pay and get away with that and do not face big problems, i know it is wrong but you have to pay some fine there too and face problems, then why not giving some fine to the police man ;) just joking

I know that it is very common in the south asian countries but the problem with me is that I don't know how to fight against corruption if it happens with you.

Oh wow that is corruption right there I just don't know why an officer would take a bribe they shouldn't do that because that is just not cool at all. Well actually yes there is a lot of officers that will take bribes and let you get away with it, it's like their bonus right there. You know there probably thinking well nobody will find out so the officers will just take the bribes, but I don't like that at all what is our world coming too you know I just don't know now. Find it really unfair makes one sad that the some officers are corrupt now a days.

No, not in real life but in movies I've seen a lot of situations like this, but one thing I must say that we should fight against corruption and we should stop giving bribe. I mostly try to follow it...

Corruption is happening every day. Every people is guilty about it. But the sad thing, it is the policeman always highlighted in it. I even witnessed a policeman being bribed. I even bribed a traffic enforcement when we were caught of "no left turn" viloation before. I don't know why they do it. I don't know why we do it also. We have the participation why they are doing it. We tend to bribed them when we are caught in the middle of an incident because we don't want to undergo the inconvenience of processing the law. It is so complicated. We blamed them but we are pushing them to do it. But one thing is for sure, It means that their principle can be bought.

Since you have mentioned rupees, the place where you witness the crime must be in Indonesia. Well, corruption is widely spread in the country. I have never had any incident in the country but from a neighboring country, I have some experience. I was ask for "coffee money" after I have approached an officer for help. Mind you, I have not committed any crimes or offences. But to help me, the officer requested that I offer that in return.
