Do you think teenagers should be allowed to have piercings showing at school?

At the high school I go to you can get in trouble for having any kind of facial piercing because supposedly it is distracting. However, kids who come to school with colored hair (pink, purple, green, blue, etc.) don't get into any kind of trouble. Do you think this is fair? Do you think that kids that come to school with piercings should be asked to remove them? Or do you think that kids should be allowed to wear them? As a teenager with a nose piercing I think I should be allowed to wear my nose ring to school. There are kids at my school who are covered from head to toe in tattoos and I feel that that is much more distracting than my tiny stud. But besides that, I don't feel like it's their place to tell me what I can and cannot do to my body. At my age, my parents should be the only ones with that power and they are okay with it. Please post all opinions I want to know what everyone thinks.

They shouldnt even have the power to tell us if we can use piercings or not, it is just distracting if they let it be. I also have piercings but i have a couple facial ones that stand out and i would never take them out because the school asked me to or even told me to. We should be able to go to school the way want and not the way they want us to go. Tattoos, hair style or piercings is what makes us, well us. They have no right to take our image away from us.

I agree. Today was my first day of school and no one said anything, but I'm always on edge because I've never fought with a teacher or anybody over anything, but that is one thing I'd be willing to fight with them about.
