Should we teach our children respect other culture as well at home?

At school, we expect our children to learn well, and score high academic performance. But we need to also teach our children how to respect others, especially the people from other countries who has different cultures and customs from us. Sometimes, I saw those foreign students who barely speak English were made fun of, and that is not how we want our children to be. If we, as a parent, we should teach our children respect others too. Our dominant status is not always permanent; through respect and humility, we gain true respect from others too. I hope that our children can learn this concept through their growing up too.

I absolutely agree with you in this matter. It is not only the School premises should have to teach our children about other people's culture but most of us parents. We will be the first teacher to teach unto them the respect of any individual especially for elder people although they will be in another nationalities.

I agree that it's not only school's duty to teach respect but also the home's. Parents should be the first teachers of children and they should teach respect for other people in order for them to get respected back.
