I saw quite a few reviews for this film and they weren't good. But there is absolutely nothing on the theater right now and a friend wanted to go to the movies so we decided to see it anyways and I really liked it. I think it is one of those movies that if you identify with it then you will really like it and if you don't you won't. Since I am a 30 something, divorced woman who is currently looking for myself and a way to right my world, like the main character in the movie, I get it, identify with the movie and totally loved it. But I could see how some people might think this movie a bit long and boring. I thought it was a nicely done film but nothing to write home about and certainly not up to the advertising it got, but I am still interested in reading the book it is based on. Has anyone else seen Eat, Pray, Love? What did you think of the film?

I read the book. I found it really new-age, PC and boring. I don't see how they can make a movie on it.

Really? That is too bad, maybe I will borrow the book from the library then, I don't want to trade for or buy something I am not sure I will like. The movie was a little slow in parts but probably if you didn't like the book you won't like the film.

I can see from the film where the book might come off that way. I am on the waiting list at the library for it. I will just wait until my turn comes up. One of the pluses of living in the greater Los Angeles area is that their is an extensive library system. That I have recently discovered and gotten a card for, the library even has its own iphone app!

I bought the book second hand. I usually buy as many books as I can carry. Most are good. I think I sold this one back instead of passing it on. I know my friends wouldn't like it. It was just too new age, wanna be hippie

People seem not to like the book much which is interesting because usually when they make a movie out of a film many people have loved the book and I am getting negative feedback on the film and book. The movie was decent. Not great but good.

I haven't seen it yet, but I do want to see it actually. Is it sort of a chick flick or does it have like some kind of deeper meaning to it as well?

It is sort of a chick flick but it does have a deeper meaning as well. Think female mid life crisis of sorts.
