How would you describe yourself? - asked by an interviewer.

If you are in front of an interviewer and told to describe yourself, how would you describe yourself? Do you follow an outline when describing yourself? What comes to mind when asked with this question? Do you start with personal details or straightforward talk about your best attributes? When I had my first interviews, and with no advice from anybody, or with no learning from a book or from any resource, I find the question difficult. I find it so because I did not expect it. I find it so because I did not believe in myself. I was too insecure at that time being very young. I believe that it is very important that an individual must do the necessary preparations before plunging for an interview. The question above seems easy but when you do not expect it, you will surely stammer and get lost along the way. How would you describe yourself now if you are in front of an interviewer?

I too came into asking myself that in front of the mirror after being interviewed for a job for the first time.. But now i can say that i can describe myself in one sentence..I am small but definitely terrible. Of course if this is a real interview i could elaborate more by saying I am small but terrible because that is what my friends would usually say that i am. Not the negative of the word terrible but the positive one. I am a true friend by heart, can do multitasks, hardworking, honest and very nice, im only bad to others who never show kindness to me other than that, i can say im a very good person.

That one is usually easy for me. I am totally honest and always say that I am a very hardworking individual, always willing to learn and ask the right questions. Always willing to help and assist wherever possible. No job is ever too small or to big for me. Hope this gets me hired.

ha ha You are hired! some jobs require a more detailed description of self. i guess, it depends on the job that one is rooting for.
