Everyday stress may be defined as any form of hardship encountered by a human soul. For me, stress is any force that could wear us and our energies down. Did you know that there are also positive stresses... like winning a lottery, having a new baby.. the excitement can definitely wear you down but it ain't negative...How about you, How so you define Stress in your life? Please share your definition on this.

I've learned that stress actually originates from the Latin word ‘stringere’ which means to draw tight. When we are under pressure or problem because of many things like, lack of money, conflict with anyone, pressure at work or school or any thing that causes us to worry, when this feeling prevents us from feeling calm and then accompanied by feeling of like there is a knot in our stomachs, and the muscles of our neck and shoulder muscles are getting tighter and harder then that is stress. Many things or the anticipation of bad things to come can provoke stress. Getting stressed is a hard situation and we should have a way to overcome it. Now here is a good way to overcome stress. Those who are under stress, I think we should consider reading this beautiful poem written by Wendell Berry: The Peace of Wild Things ------------------------ When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. --------- So those who are under stress, learn from this poem. God bless!

Stress is something which makes one lose imbalance and control over mind. And mind controls us so we react out of control.

For me stress is when I want to take a break from my usual day to day activities. If I feel that I am too tired and I got no enthusiasm to do something especially at work then I know I'm feeling stress. It is my cue that I need to take a unwind or relax.

Stress is any factors which include physical, emotional , social economic or others that require a response or change. It can be positive that makes the person do his or her work well or it may be negative in which the person will have difficulty dealing. Chronic stress can weaken the immune system and the body as a whole of an individual so they are prone to develop diseases and sometimes mental disorders. Stress can be applied therapeutically like in phobic individuals. Sometimes it is accompanied by anxiety which is a subjective experience of an individual characterized by the feeling of apprehension, uneasiness or dread as a result of threats that maybe actual, imagined or misinterpreted by the person.

I define it a pressure and as a lot of anxiety and problems that control a persons life. That is what my stress is like anyway.

Stress is generally negative but there are times that stress can make me work harder and faster. It can either push you or hinder you.
