i think they will just ignore it; which is really sad. They will ignore it, like how they ignored the maltreatment of ofws in foreign lands: especially in jeddha and the like... Have you seen the news yesterday, how ofws in Jeddha are treated- like animals that's why some of them go crazy... so sad... And our government can do nothing about it- because it's beyond their control. How many Filipino lives have we lost because of the harsh treatments of the foreigners...

I don't think so. Remember the HOstage Angelo Dela Cruz when he was abducted in Iraq. and demanded to leaving of Filipino troops in the country. what did Arroyo do? she asked the forces to come home so that they will release the hostage. we were mocked by people around the world, even jay leno made a joke about it.but our unity has saved that hostage from being killed in Iraq.

It happened several years ago in Beijing where a family of Filipino tourists were killed by a lunatic gunman. We never raised a protest like they are doing now. We did not make enemies of the Chinese people. There was no outcry about it. It was just buried under the Chinese news and nothing has ever been heard about it.

Oh That was very sad to hear. why we always surpass that kind of things and why if we did the mistake they always pointing their fingers to us..it's so sad to hear that we did encountered the same situation in Beijing however why does the government tackle or open the same issue. They must not under estimate us.we are just people and make some mistakes sometimes..

As normally would they say, they would be more concern of the tourism rather than what happen..

Hey turingskie, is that you in the picture? Anyway if Filipinos were being hostage and the Chinese will be the rescuers, I think we Filipinos will symphatize and feel bad about it. And the reactions would have two faces, One seeking for justice and those are the ones who would criticize as well. And the other face avoids being judgemental hoping for the best that the problems will be resolved hoping that it will never happen again.

Very good question. If this thing happens to us, of course the government can't do much about it. They consider us on the third world country and land of domestic helper. All they need to do is just give the families financial assistance and the families will just agree and shut up.

....in my own opinion...there will be minimum feedback or reaction from us with regards to this issue if ever it will be reverted and the incident took place in another country with Filipino people taken as hostages and were killed....there are two reasons why I said so, base on my own opinion..one is that, most of the Filipino people is open-minded enough to understand that incident like this happens anytime..second reason is that, Filipino people is tired of complaining specially with the very slow action of our government with regards to incident like this...

Well, if that is the case! in fairness to our government maybe they would reacted like hongkong government but surely it will become a grand standing issue of those politicians.
