Has anyone made a Facebook profile for their writer's profile?

I am thinking of making a Facebook profile for my writer's profile on Triond, Bukisa and such, since I heard that Facebook is a great way to promote your articles, and I don't want to use my personal Facebook for it, since I think it might annoy my friends to get notified of my new articles all the time. Has anyone done this? Did it work out well for you, or would you advice against it? How did you make friends with your new profile if you did it?
