Cash Gopher will not work for me!

I was looking forward to installing Cash Gopher as my computer is left running all day every day, but it would not work for me. I tired a few times, but now I see that when I open up the Cash Gopher site I get this error message. "We're sorry, but it appears that you're not running Microsoft Windows. CashGopher is only available for the Windows operating system at this time." So for now, I am unable to use this program as I am not running Microsoft Windows. I have Windows on a laptop and my wife's computer but she uses these and I don't want to have the program on her computers. She would not like it. Any one else have this problem as well?

An advice to Linux/Mac users. You can use Cash Gopher in Linux/Mac OS too. Install Virtualization software like Virtual Box/Vmware or similar kind in Linux. Then install XP inside that. Now install Cashgopher inside that Virtual OS and enable the Internet. It will connect to the server and work like it is installed in real OS. This is a simple trick to enable Linux/Mac users to enjoy benefits of cashgopher.

Interesting! That sounds like it may be a little complicated for me (as some linux things can be for me) and I am not sure if I want to go to that extent in order to run it. I have Windows Vista here on disk though. Would it take up much space on my computer doing this? I imagine that it would.

Hi RawBill :-) Mine installed successfully the other day on my computer using Firefox & Windows 2000 Professional piece-of-rubbish-that's-no-good-for-anything-else! I guess that rules out the "USA only" theory. I wish I would've waited until you added your referral banner to your profile, then I could be helping you earn. I hope it earns well. I'll let you know how much a day it makes. I won't be using referrals, but this computer runs 24/7, although it only gets used eight hours a day. Every time I go to do a search, it pops up with its own rubbish search engine that can never find anything at all; won't even recognize yahoo. Their search engine, I think it's called "Megasearch", but can't recall it exactly, seems to have a mind of its own. If it only pulls in a little bit each day, I think I'll uninstall it as it can be quite annoying. It reminds me of a similar program from the UK which deleted my account once I neared pay-out. I'll give this one a fair go though & see where it gets me. Do you know of any other programs around that operate on a similar principle?

Can you Run Gomez and the Gopher together? I wonder if they will cause issues being on there together at the same time? Yeah, apparently the independents are going through everything over the weekend. The sooner this ends the better. Only time will tell how it will affect the country having a minority government. Have a great weekend, I hear you are in for some wind and rain down there. Nice and warm here.

Hi Veganbliss. Still no firm decision on the leader of the country yet hey! I only thought to add the banner to my profile earlier today. I am not into heavily promoting things that I know nothing about, so I will not be going to too many lengths to promote it. The only other program that I have ever heard of that runs like this was Gomez Peer. I am not sure if that is still going or if the works with Linux systems, but I knew some people who were using it a few years ago and they loved it at the time. Yeah, let me know how it goes will you.

It's fairly reasonable money, RawBill1. I only had it running for a few hours yesterday & already there's four cents in there! That Gopher earns more than I do on My-Lot! Just keep the cats & dogs tied up so they don't eat the little fella :-). I'm downloading Gomez Peer now... will let you know how I go with it. Thanks heaps, by the way. Seems to be nothing to lose, right? Takes for ever to download. This election is taking forever... I'm "so over" elections :-). Apparently, we will all know by Monday which way the three independents will go. Looks like we'll have a Greens - controlled Labor minority Government for the first time in history, with Gay Marriage legalized, being nice to asylum seekers, private health insurance subsidies scrapped & land use restricted all priorities. They're calling it a "mongoose & cobra coalition". I reckon what will happen is a repeat of SA's election in 2002, where once Labor get in, they'll work hard to find ways to do away with independents & others & force the mandate to govern in their own right. All we need to happen with any side forming government is for one minister to be sick or something & nothing will be done for weeks! It's a fool's game & the only losers are Australians.

Sounds like Bill Gates has his finger in this too. Otherwise you should be able to use other systems. I am not a big fan of Windows, though that is what I have. I hate the IE so use Firefox instead. Sorry for those who cannot use this and not sure if I will be or not.

I am pretty sure that Bill gates is not involved! I guess most computer users in the world use his operating system so it makes sense for them to make it run on Windows first and then add the others later. But it would have been better and fairer if they got it all sorted to run on everything before the launch as we are disadvantaged in a way. I guess I will have to concentrate on getting referrals for the program instead.

I have windows on my computer and of course had no problem with Cash Gopher but I admit I am really peeved with Microsoft! It is so annoying that a lot of software is only compatible with windows. It is easy to see how Bill Gates got so rich…Just to buy a copy of Microsoft Office 2010 it costs almost four hundred dollars and it can only be installed on one computer! I’m sorry you’re having problems; the only things to do are to hope Cash Gopher will become windows compatible or change your OS which is a drastic move! Still don’t like Microsoft!

I may just try open office I heard of it a while ago. I am using my sister's Microsoft Office 2003 at the moment but she's bought a new computer and wants the 2010 version and it's my turn to buy it but I refuse to pay that much money for software that can only be used once. I'm going to have a look at open office, thanks for mentioning it...

$400 for Microsoft Office! Who would pay that when you can download open office for free! I used to have a version of Microsoft Office and I am sure it was someone else's copy that they let us install or it was a burnt copy or something. I know that we did not pay for it. I cannot remember how that worked. Then when I lost Windows I installed the Linux Kubuntu operating system for free. (I have a copy of Windows Vista here, but chose the free ware option instead) I then installed open office as my wife had been using it for years on her computer and loved it. There is so much great software that you can get for free that a lot of people do not even know about. The majority think you HAVE to buy Microsoft or go the Apple Mac route, although open source stuff is becoming more widely known.

No worries Paula. It is not the same as Microsoft Office, but it can do most things that are commonly used like word documents and spreadsheets just as good and you can convert them to PDF documents as well. I would not pay that much for a program either!

You are not alone!!! Many people or mylotters experience that kind of problem when it comes to downloading the CashGopher...installing it...and running it in a system. But it is normal because it is in pre-launched period...thus there would some bugs... Just wait for some maintenance that they will provide...but now just work on mylot because mylot really pays.

Hopefully they will be supporting my operating system in the future. For now though, I will just promote it and try to earn money through referrals for the program.

I was a bit dubious about myLot's objectives with this program but I installed it because of greed. I was sure it installed because afterwards I was asked to sign in and register etc. For three day I had no earnings and my computer was playing up since I installed so I decided to uninstall it. I can't find it. It's not in program files and it's not in Add/Remove programs. I have no idea what's going on. I understand that the only people who will get any real benefit from the program are the US residents but I think it's crappy that everyone cannot participate equally. I don't think you are missing out on much.

I was excited today to see a new opportunity. But when I read Cash Gopher's terms of service, I neither saw my country's name(Philippines) on the OFAC ban list or on the Paypal countries. I have a Paypal account and it's verified, and my address there is Philippine address. I wish I could join Cash Gopher, because I like to earn that extra bucks, while my computer runs 24/7 on the net. Cash Gopher/MyLot, could you please include my country? Could someone please advise me about this?

I think you should be able to join it as I saw in another discussion that people from your country had installed it and were using it.

Teamrose, you must be the only person on MyLot who has not heard of it! There have been banners and discussions all over the site for the last week or so! You would have received an alert about it also. You should check it out.

May be a good thing. That annoying Gopher pops ups everywhere I search. No where do they tell you exactly what you have to do to earn a particular amount.
