Can Android beat Windows mobile?

Before switch to Nokia 5800 Music Express, I own O2 Zinc running Windows Mobile. Don't negative O2 Zinc difficult to type sms because I need to keyboard or stylus. But I'm not sure about Androids how fast it is compare to Windows Mobile
