I Am Here For the Cats, Dogs Need Not Apply

I signed up to volunteer for a local pet organization similar to the humane society. I am a great Cat Socializer. We had a room full of people there to be trained to be volunteers, about 30-40 or so. So they asked us who wants to work with cats and dogs? cricket, cricket, cricket, filled the room only about 4 or 5 of us really wanted to work with cats (I think I was the only one who only wanted to work with cats); Everyone else was all about the dogs. So why is it that everyone is crazy about dogs and looks at you funny if you like cats to the exclusion of dogs. Have you as a cat owner ever had the experience of having someone treat you different because you liked cats better than dogs?

oh,that myth that cat people are crazy is usually the reason.
but me and my cats don't care what dog people think LOL
i would be the same way.i do like dogs,but i'd rather not work with them.
some of the dogs would be better off having a guy handle them anyway,since many are way stronger than me to have to deal with.we used to have a husky/shepard that was like a tornado on a leash.
(and before anyone says it,it wasn't my dog-my parents.yes i know it was badly trained)

I hear you. I like dogs just fine but I'd rather not have one nor work with them at the shelter. They are more work. You actually have to do training with them. Plus there are plenty of people to work with dogs and not so manyto work with cats. And as I said I am a cat lady.

I go with what I like it's animal so is a dog if people have problem withworking with eather cats or dogs it shouldn't matter as long as they are being look after dog or cat!!!I got 5 cats 1 dog and I am happy and so are the animals.
