I read ina local daily , that a meat shop owner in a village in southern india , has been giving 4 eggs for free , if people buy meat and carry meat in other than plastic bags . I think its really great to implant such idea on villagers .What do u think .HAve u ever hear of any such peculiar efforts ?

Hello and welcome to my Lot! Very nice and interesting topic! I think that this shop owner must get something for his great idea!Maybe he pays few dollars for thouse eggs, but people will be use another kind of bag,no plastic bag!Unfortunatelly,I don't hear about similar ideas before! If we have more people like this shop owner, our planet will be saved!

Hi, I know of several such stories and that is great. I live in South Africa and have been an environmentalist for 14 years. The South African government has come up with a plan a couple of years ago to start taxing plastic bags when given out in supermarkets, shops etc. At first the response of just about everybody was that this is ridiculous and that it is just another method of making money. The results of this action is as follows: 1. People started using these carry bags to their maximum capacity, using less plastic bags. 2. People started using alternative carry bags, such as nylon bags which a lot of outlets started selling for around R 10, which greatly reduced the use of plastic bags. 3. Where you used to see thousands of these bags all over, it is now reduced to seeing much, much less. I don't think people realize the impact of plastic globally, it is up to us to teach people what it is about. This is a great way of doing it. Thank you Rharikumar
