I am a musician but of the conventional type. That doesn't stop me from loving as well the beat of the modern music. But I could not make the difference of what the young ones call funk (or is it punk?), hip hop? emo? music. Could you please explain the difference to me or are there more terms to describe modern music...of the young.

all that u mentioned r genres of music, there are so many its rediculous, i dont think its practical to go 1 by 1 explaining evry one and each of them, the difference between them is determined by the style and feel of each individual song, for example heavy metal has heavy electric guitars which are very distorted, and hve a vocalist kind of screaming out the chorus/verse, and hiphop is a mixture of alot of sounds to make it kind of jumpy, the best way to compare is to go onto youtube and search the following songs for comparison for ROCK music Lordi - Hardrock Hallelujah For old style HipHop N.W.A - Express Yourself new style hiphop T.I. - Why You Wanna some1 correct me if i m wrong lol

Hi! I didn't know there are more than the two I mentioned (Lol!) I though heavy metal is a name of a band! It was my son's favorite so I simply thought it was a band name. OMG! Thanks for your info. I'll start searching now.

I was a bot like you in the beginning as I listen to many songs and they pleases me in the way that I love listening to all of it over and over again but then I came to make a difference between then, when you make a search in your search engine then they will give the the description of the songs too, you can always try it now to see it.
