Do you have a piggy bank in your home?

Lot's of youngster now have their own piggy bank and also me, I have in my room and it is very heavy to hold my piggy bank. I've started to put a coins when I'm in a college because I plan to buy another computer if my piggy bank full. I think it is big amount because last 2002 when I started to put 10 pesos a day and sometimes 20 pesos coins.
How about you? Do you have a piggy bank or you prefer to save your money in real bank or ATM?

When I was still a college student.., I used to have my own piggy bank wherein I get to drop all the coins left from my daily allowance there.., But now.., My boyfriend and I shares a piggy bank wherein we drop all the 10 peso coins.., We are saving it to finance our dream climb.. =)

It is good idea that you and your boyfriend have join account such as a piggy bank. but my question is, when you and your boyfriend separate each other, whom get the piggy bank?I'm hoping that your relationship will become stronger all the time.If both of you put 10 pesos coins every day, perhaps in such time or in a year, it is big amount of money.continue putting any coins in your piggy bank.

My husband and I have a little piggy jar. We use it to put change in sometimes. I remember taking my own piggy bank and depositing the money in the bank one year, so it's all gone... I had more change but took it to school for some school project and didn't feel like taking it out of the locker. One janitor, student or kid was a very happy camper that year.

Growing up my piggy bank was blue, it was a girl with long hair (I think in pigtails to the side) with blush on her cheeks, or maybe it was supposed to be rosy cheeks. It had a thing at the bottom to cut and get the coins out when it was full. We just tore the top of it off, and started sorting the coins out.
The jar we have now is small so it gets full very quickly. I am thinking about getting a water cooler jug, those are large and can hold quite a bit of money. We may see about buying one as I believe you can buy one, and that way we will have it and fill it up.
It's good to keep patient I agree, as when you do finally open up the piggy bank it will be a great surprise to find so much change.

You must be very sure to yourself that if you want to have a piggy bank in your home you must not to get the money as soon as they didn't full. Just think that coins you put on the piggy bank is you buy some thing that is special. Dont think always about the piggy bank because there are instances that you are eager to get the money how much in the piggy bank.when I was a kid I always check my piggy bank how much the money I put it on but when I realized that its not good and we are not surprising if it is already full. so, I buy the piggy bank a stone one that I cant get the money there from time to time. when its full it is the time you break the piggy bank. Until now my piggy bank is heavy and I don't know how much money is there. I'm hoping soon that it will full so that I can count how much.

It's good to keep a habit by saving money in the piggy bank. I used to have several piggy bank during my childhood. I feel so contented once it's full and I will save the accumulated savings into the bank account. I think my parents had trained me well to have the money saving habit.

Ya, they really are. Other than cultivating a good saving habit, they also educate me the importance of family and to care for others. What you said is right, that the habit that we adopt during childhood, will be brought over to grown up time. Now I no longer have a piggy bank, but a bank account

They are good parents cheongyc of yours because starting in your childhood, they trained you enough to know the importance of every centimo you saved. Do you know that if you trained before, you also bring it when you are in adult? So, I guess that you are have plenty of money in your piggy bank.You are also a good son to your parents and also a good model to anyone.

I don't have a piggy bank in my home, but that is a good idea if you intend to save money. Whether you are grown - up or small, saving money is a good habit, and I would definitely encourage my son and daughter to do so. It is consider a virtue.

Yes kingparker. Saving money through coins in our home is good and very helpful because you can put how many coins you want to put the piggy bank and you cannot get the money as long as the piggy bank didn't full..

Not a real piggy bank, but I do have a bottle (made of plastic) where I put all my change. I feel it works better than a piggy bank because I have to cut it open to get to the coins, which I don't want to do unless the bottle is full. But besides not looking like a piggy bank, it really is one.

It is okay puccagirl as long as you have it to saved money. you are very creative because the empty bottles you make it a piggy bank. you didn't need to buy a piggy bank. I like your idea. you are very idealistic and practical.

I also heard that belief in my grandie. but I'm not believing that. Maybe you are right because before I have a pink piggy bank and its really near to full then my mother have a diabetic so, thats why my money in the piggy bank is for the medicines and the bills.

i dont have any piggybank coz in our place it is sort of a superstitious belief that if u save up money in a piggybank its like saving up for your hospital bills=( that is why i dant have piggybank yeahyeah i am that superstitious..=) people in our place are superstitious and it wouldnt hurt if i believe thats all...but i dont have anything against people who save up money through piggybank...=) i am just sharing why i do not have a piggybank...=) goodluck to your piggybank savings guys...=)

Yes, I have a piggy bank at our home. It is for my son to store the coins. When I have coins in my wallet, sometimes I will give them to my son to store. I don't like carrying the coins.

Teaching your son to save money from his own is a good idea. In his early age he know how to save money and the importance of money in our daily life.Carrying coins is disgusting because it is too heavy.

Hello cream. it is okay if you don't have piggy bank in your home as long as you have money in the bank. The important for me of having a piggy bank in our home is when I have lots of coins, of course I can put easily to the piggy bank without thinking about the coins I've put. I ashamed to deposit coins in the bank that's why I have piggy bank.

Hi,
I used to have a piggy bank when I was a kid. I can't remember
how my piggy bank looks like and for sure,the money has been
taken out since long time ago.
Now I don't have any piggy banks at home.
Lately, I got a piggy bank from Diaper company,it is a redemption
gift by using the barcode.very nice the piggy bank design and it is
for my son.
I will teach him on how to keep his coins inside and also the purpose of
doing so. It is a good start up for him since he is still very young.
Now, I keep all my money in a bank and holding an atm card will make me
feel convenience anytime I need to withdraw some money from my account.

Having a piggy bank is a big help for us because if we have a lots of coins in our wallet we need to put it on the piggy bank without counting it so, in due time, if your piggy bank is full you can found out that it is really big and have a big help for us.

I can remember having a piggy bank as a child. It was pink and ceramic. It was easy to fill but not so easy to remove coins. i guess that is the purpose of having a piggy bank. They are meant for saving and not for spending. Over the years my children had several different piggy banks but they were never like the one i used to have. when we are a child before, we think that having a piggy bank is really good in saving but sometimes if we don't have any money in our pocket we are eagerly to get the coins there especially when our piggy bank is have a lock. The kid's nowadays are not good enough to save money from their own allowance because they are spending too much in the school.

Your mother is always supportive with you because she is always there to buy you a new piggy bank if you already broke up your old. For me, having a piggy bank is like an you spending small amount in your life but you are benefited it when you broke the piggy bank.

when i was a kid i used to have a huge Johnsons Baby Powder container as a piggy bank ^_^
someday when i have my own kids, i'll also encourage them to do the same thing - so that they will learn the values of saving..
right now i have a huge mug to collect 10-peso coins. my goal is to reach at least P1000 to spend for the Christmas holidays ^_^

As an adult, we need to encourage our kids to have a piggy bank and saving it from their own. they need to reserve a small amount of coins from their own allowance and put it on the piggy bank to save money for the future use. If you want to reach the 1000 pesos to spend in the Christmas ,you better do not always put 10 pesos instead, if you have lots of coins inside your wallet, don't hesitate to put it on the piggy bank to reached your goals.

I have a huge green glass vase thing to hold our spare change in. It doesn't have much it it because we usually give our change to our kids. Each of our kids have their own piggy banks in their room. When they help out doing small chores we give them change for in their piggy banks. Then when it gets full we count them and roll them up and deposit them into their savings accounts in the bank.

Hi careguarden! I do have a "piggy bank" too! It is really cute
too! It is a ceramic white piggy bank with some other pretty
pastel colors on it and I bought it in the Dollar Store and I
love it! It doesn't have much money in it though. I put pennys
and whatever lose change I have, which is never much from time
to time when my wallet gets full! But, most of the time the
"poor piggy" doesn't get "fed" for long times in between!

Sometimes, we have our own preferences in having a piggy bank. I have a pink piggy bank because I love pink opal.It is better to think that we put some coins in the piggy bank without thinking that we are investing right? In my part I do always don't think the piggy bank in my own because I want to make it full right away.

I have a piggy bank because here to count the coins, you have to pay for the service but other forms of cash goes to the bank. Therefore I have both.

Having a piggy bank for me is like a playing games because every coins I put it on the piggy bank I think it hat money is past away so, meaning, I don't think that I have a piggy bank at all because if you think and think about the piggy bank there are instances that you might get the money on it.

Moreover, I have a coin bank not a piggy bank and what I do is that...everyday I drop 20 pesos there. and I was hoping that savings will grow to use it in future finances.
Regards with saving it to a real bank or ATM...maybe I will do this if I have a bank account and ATM account because I am only a college student...and if time will come...I will do this because Investing your money is good...
So if you deposit 1000 in a bank...it will multiply...unlike if you will save it in your own savings...it will still remain.
Remember the story in a bible...the three talents!
I believed that being a careful people...makes God happy.
Be a good steward. I hope you will know how to tithes with your savings.

Yes but at the moment it is empty rofl! I will start to save up some pennies now... I didn't use the piggy bank for ages but now that schools are open again I will be getting my pocket money and like a lot of the times saving it instead of spending I am probably going to need it a lot in the future so I'm thinking ahead.

Sometimes, the best thing that mother can do is to have a piggy bank for the needs of the children especially the school time. Because we can't really assure that all time we have money in our pocket because sometimes we don't have even a centavo because were not rich. So, better think good idea that helps kids to save their money. Saving for the future is good to be true.

Actually believe it or not I still have a piggy bank till now when I was 10 years old. It has more than $300 in it. I am very happy! I never spend a dime or take out a dime from my piggy bank, instead I leave it to grow more and more..

wow, we are the same idea omar in saving money. Even if my parents didn't agree to have piggy bank in our house because they believe that having a piggy bank in our house will have in return. I mean they might have any happening that my piggy bank will ruined. But I don't believe them and still I'm putting small amount everyday to make it grow. We felt happy if we always saw that our piggy bank grow.
