Wow... Ummm... I grew up in Korea until I was 13 & I grew up eating it & watched my mom make it all my life but I couldn't tell ya how to make it. This is the closest thing I found on internet, http://www.drbenkim.com/how-make-kim-chi.htm.

thanks a lot. I really like kimchi and i really want to learn how to make it. but does it really smell bad? or is there a way to take out the odor?

Ha ha ha... The order does need some getting used to, depends on who makes it. Some people are very heavy handed & puts a lot of spices in it. And the order is one of the beauty of the food. I'm not sure if there's a way to take the order out but I don't think it would taste the same if there was a way to take it out.

I do not know the exact "formula" for making really good kimchi, but from what I can taste... it's like pickled cabbage. So just put a nice mix of spices in a jar full of cabbage and other vegetables. The response above is not a bad start either.
