Does being an entrepreneur have any appeal to you? Well, it does for a lot of people even me. Defining an entrepreneur is not an easy thing to do. But we can say with some clarity what entrepreneurship is about. Entrepreneur has been defined as a relentless pursuit of opportunity for the purpose of creating a value without concern for the resources owned. To be successful, the entrepreneurial process requires that the entrepreneur be able to: Identify a good opportunity We may have a ‘good idea”, but it may not be a “good opportunity.” Opportunities are market driven. There must be enough customers who want to buy our product or services at a price that covers our expenses and leaves an attractive profit- no matter who cre4ates new ideas or differentiates a product that would entice customers to buy. Sources of Capital Entrepreneurs must gain access to the resources needed. For any venture, there are critical resources- human, financial and physical capitals that must be available. The main source of capital, remember, is the owner or the entrepreneur who invest money and or property to put up a business. Launch the venture All the planning in the world is not enough. The entrepreneur must be action oriented. It requires a “can do” spirit. Take the business risks A business has to grow if it is to be successful. As many business, success is measured in terms of profit, the reality is that any money making venture is risky. The higher the profit you desire, the more risky the venture is. Risk is the element of uncertainty in an outcome. An endeavor like a business has always an element of uncertainty. It is not certain that the operation of the business will turn out well. It is not certain that the creditors will be paid. One way of reducing risk in growing up a business is to make a careful assessment as to what form of business should one put up as well as what type of operation it would be. I had share you some simple tips, Do you ever think about wanting to someday own your own business?

I also want to be an entrepreneur. It has been my dream to own businesses. For me, before you become a businessman, you need to undergo necessary training so that you will be ready in the near future. For me, I have to be patient in everything that I do because it one of the qualities to be a successful one. My dream businesses are Computer Shops, Real Estate, Resorts, Tutorial Center and a Consultant Company.

I am really into Real Estate, and that would be my dream business too. But I doubt that is actually what I will end up doing! (you need so much money for that I think)

Hmm. Maybe you can be one of my reseller in Metro Manila. By the way, have you passed the PhilNITS I.T. certification exams? Taking the exam could open up more opportunities (or possibilities) for you especially if you are keen with working with Japanese companies or Japanese partners.

I never really wanted to own a business. but I want to own several websites, and help others make theirs successful. I honestly believe that the internet is the only way out of the shadow of this economy. To own a business would just be too risky now, because the chances of failure have increased 10 fold.

Nowadays, owning "several" websites is not much of a problem. In fact, I have several of my own. However, a much tougher problem is keeping up with publishing work especially finding readers for your publications.

I agree with what you said. I want to say that I had thought many times to someday own myself business. But I felt it will be difficult to star. Just as you said, if somebody want to be a entrepreneur,he need opportunity, source and some other conditions. But now I lack all of them. As a student now, I think I should take a job first, and then study more about society experiences. Maybe I could make my dream come true in the future.

It is my dream to have my business someday! This idea is has been in my head for a very long time and I am quite excited to start it and realized it. I am an ambitious person, but we can never really tell what things that are coming to us. ;) I wanted to have a transportation business, that is, having my own shipping lines. The second priority that i have is doing some real estate business. I know these businesses is very hard to achieve but with God's help, may be I can start these things. Right? ;) Have a good day!

It's not easy being an entrepreneur. Following the dream can crush lesser mortals who attempt to risk everything to make an innovative idea happen. Problems tend to feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. If I had to do it all over again (or if time travel is possible), I'd probably advice my younger self to choose a different path. Unfortunately, Michael J. Fox got the time machine destroyed so I have to make do with my present reality.
