when i was pregnant with my first child, i had to stay in complete bed rest for 1 week. it was on my 6th month, and i had blood spottings, so they had to place me on bed rest to save the baby. i had a hard time since i wasnt used to just laying in bed for the whole day. it was harder for me to do nothing than to be doing something...

whoa that must have been really hard. i think my most horrible experience was that i vomited and felt dizzy for like almost 24 hours a day...that lasted until the 6th month of my pregnancy, but it didnt stop just like that, it gradually disappeared it's good to hear that your baby was saved. God bless you.

I had a similar experience on my first pregnancy. when I was on my 4th month, I had some spotting, too and had premature contractions. My doctor advised me for a month of bed rest. It was so boring, as I am very used to fast pace environment at work. My husband had to stock up on DVDs so I have something to enjoy doing. But, we had to make some sacrifices to make sure baby inside is safe and healthy.

When I was 36 weeks pregnant with my second baby I got terrible news after an ultrasound scan. I was told my baby has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. I had the professionals telling me things like "It isn't known if your baby will be compatible with life". I went to see the fetal medicine unit and they offered me an abortion! I said no way. Back home I didn't want to see my midwife because I thought she would try to push me into having a hospital birth. I was happy that I was allowed to go ahead with the home birth I had planned. I had a two and a half hour labor. I didn't have to do any pushing. My baby boy came flying out and the midwives caught him. They wrapped his back in cling film and sent him off to hospital. For the next three weeks after that he stayed in the special care baby unit. In there were many premature and sick babies. It was a noisy place with all the machines. I was overjoyed the day I brought my son back home. She had to sleep on his side due to the surgery. Now he is a happy little three year old. He is unable to walk and he needs catheter care. In my third pregnancy I had to have extra scans to check I was having a normal baby. I had a healthy and normal baby girl.

During pregnency first trimester and last trimester is considered to be very worse because during first trimester we are not able to eat anything because of vomitting sensation and during last trimester as the baby is growing in the womb we cant eat anything.

I also had spotting with my first, I was 11 weeks pregnant and had 24 hour all day sickness. I was put on bed rest till I was 16 weeks pregnant and was able to go back to work. Until at my next appointment it was found that I had lost 10kgs and at 16 weeks pregnant I was 42kgs. I had to stop work. It was the hardest thing in any of my pregnancies, being in bed unable to do anything and not sure if I would continue to be pregnant and become a mum or not. My labour with my first was an easy 3 hours, and I loved every second of it.
