Everybody can probably remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when the US was attacked on 9/11. I was at work. I had walked out to the reception desk, and heard it on the receptionist's radio. We were all in complete and total shock. The horror of it still chills me when I think about it. My boss sent all of us home. I watched the twin towers colapse live on TV. Where were you? Please share your experience.

Hi Toofancy; I recall, like it was yesterday, where I was on Sept 11th during 9/11. Like yourself I was at work, but at home. Getting started for the day, I remember it was a clear day, the sky was blue and I had the news on the T.V. I was in total shock also, to put it simply. I could barely believe my eyes. I felt horror also. I do to this day. What is more is all the controversy shadowing the event as I type. Yesterday, being the anniversary, there was much to be said surrounding this very topic. I can only shake my head in utter disgust. Needless to say, it was a somber day. Eerily quiet, as I resided, at the time, over a very busy airspace, near Vancouver Airport. The sky was still, even the main thoroughfare seemed unusually quiet. A time that I surely will not forget anytime soon. I still put in a full work day however. Life has never been the same. Nor do I suspect that it ever will be. Has it changed, for the better or for the worse? Somethings needed to be done and so they have been.

Yes, I can remember how still the air was that day. I did not put in a full day, but was sent home that morning from my job. School did not send my children home, though, and they stayed for the full day. I was waiting for them at the front door when the bus dropped them off in front of our house. In view of all the horror, I wanted to be close to my family. I just want an end to come to terrorist attacks all over the world. Thank you for your response. It is very vivid.

Same here.. I was at work (a kennel) and my mother called and told me what was going on.. I told my boss and we quickly went upstairs and got the TV and brought it downstairs and hooked it up.. we too watched them collapse on live TV.

It was just an unbelievable and horrible day. I never would have imagined that it could happen here, and it has really made us open our eyes.
