So we have been having some problems with our car. It's about 10 years old and has over 100k miles on it. We need new brakes, which I have a warrnaty on, it s just a matter of finding someone who will put them on for us. Now I go to the store the other night and come home and when i shut the door it won't shut. My husband figures it out that theres a broken spring or something that makes the latch come up so the door can shut. We have been just pushing it up so that we can shut the door. This morning when I got to work I tried pushing it up but it wouldn't work. Here I figure out I locked the door so I unlock it but still nothing. I finally got a guy at the auto parts store to help me with a screwdriver but I guess Im gonna have to get out the passenger side door. Do you think maybe I just need to WD-40 it to get it to come up and click into place??

well i dont really know how to fix cars, but i have one of my relative with this kind of problem with the door not closing. he fixed it temporarily by roping it and tying it to something so it wont open even if you tried really hard.

Hi. angelface23. I am not all that knowledgeable when it comes to fixing on cars. But, you can try the WD-40 to see how it help to get your car door opened. If this does not work, you are going to have to take your car to a professional auto mechanic. Or someone that is knowledgeable in fixing on cars. I hope that you can get your car door opened! The car that me and my husband used to drove has a few problems to it too. The locks did not work properly. A few locks would not lock at all. So that gave my brother-in-law the fine opportunity to sleep inside of the car.
