Another Earth in Outer Space

In has been discovered recently by experts in the study of the outer space that a nearby star has it's own system. Then there is also a possibility that it has it's on EARTH like planet wherein life would be favorable. Just thinking if there are also human beings in there who are also seeking us. What do you think? Would it be a lovely meet up?

I agree that there are millions, if not billions, of habitable worlds ripe for colonization and conquering. However, as Stephen Hawking points out, more likely than not, the aliens we encounter out in the Universe are probably going to be hostile. Lets use ourselves as an example (since there aren't any other examples for use really). We have survived this long on Earth because we weren't afraid to take resources and use them ourselves. We are, after-all, an aggressive and war-like species. I'd like to think this has attributed to our ultimate survival. If this is anything to go by, combined with evolution, other intelligent species amongst the stars are likely to be aggressive.

This would be a wonderful dream come true! I just hope that this alternative Earth is like Pandorra in the film Avatar! I think then that everyone would want to escape to this planet. On a serious note I don't think anyone knows what is truly out there in the huge universe! There are unlimited possibilities! I think that if we encountered an alien race then it would change everything as we know it! Where would religion come into this? Who would be the representative for our planet? It would be an unforgettable experience no doubt and it would be recorded in history as the date that we finally made contact with beings from another world. In a billion years or so our own earth will no longer be habitable and so we as a human race will have to found an alternative planet to move to, possibly outside of our solar system. Hopefully by that time we have mastered technology so well that space travel is no longer difficult but very easy. Andrew
