The elections that happened yesterday tells us the people are starting to speak out against the stats quo and we are upset over what's going on in the government....I personally am glad to see that the people who were backed by the tea party made a good showing......Maybe in November the people would give the ones who have been in office for ever will get the boot toe right up their rear as they go out of office... Good going voter that's for ever state but New York they voted for the biggest theif in office........Hope the Ethic commettee has enoughh guts to give him the boot...

The thing to keep in mind is that while these tea party candidates are doing well in Republican primaries, in general election polls they are coming short on a whole sale level. Harry Reid should have been out a job come 2011, but it now looks like he'll be winning reelection against the tea party backed candidate Sharon Angle. Kentucky, which is rarely ever in play for the Democrats, is now a very close election after tea party supporter Rand Paul was nominated by the GOP electorate. Marco Rubio is leading in Florida, but that is largely because Meek is drawing in 24% that would mostly go to Crist if he weren't in the election. Now you have Christine O'Donnell whose nomination has turned a Safe GOP seat to, at least, a Lean Dem seat. The positions and values expressed by the tea parties may be what the GOP electorate wants, but its falling flat with Americans as a whole and it's likely to keep the Senate under Democratic control come 2011.

Actually, in these primaries about half or less of the people in each individual state have spoken out. You're right, Republican candidates backed by the tea party have done well but they were just primaries, the general election in November will tell the whole story. I don't expect all of the tea party candidates to lose but I think some of them simply aren't electable. Annie

People are angry because the US economy is still in the tank - there may be a fragile recovery of sorts but with unemployment still going up, people don't see this on the ground and are lashing out at incumbents, hence why the Democrats will get a bashing this fall. That said, putting up Tea Party candidates in Red states is one thing, putting them up in swing and blue states quite another. I seems that the Republicans are doing their best to shoot themselves in the foot, though some will argue better to have a true republican standing than a RINO. Looks like the Republicans will take over the House, though in view of recent events, this is not certain. Also looks like they have thrown away their chance of taking over the Senate, much to the Dems relief...

you have did the amusing discussion over here. Make sure you have did your right choice. But im quite feeling sad with my country citizens which still has some people are not involve them self in election. For me, Election is very important because by this day we have the right to choose the party that we think that is potential to guide and develop our country.

I hate elections... Nothing interesting! Just another day of elections and replace people.
