What would be the importance of sadness in your life?

When you feel sad, what sort of benefit do you get? Satisfaction? Is it important to be sad in your life? Or it just happens and you don't know why you are sad? When I'm sad I distract myself and I don't know why I am trying to cover up my sadness. It might be my defense mechanism from cortisol. That is just my guess but I'm not sure. Please answer it for yourself not for others. Thank you.

What makes a person sad? Is it the impending departure of a loved one, as in saying good-bye or dying? Is it getting a heartache because of a failed relationship? Is it receiving bad grades in school in spite of some serious study? Sadness is, contrary to the accepted notion that this is the opposite of happiness, is an emotional feeling that makes us melancholic over something. But it is not negative at all. Sadness is longing and when we allow the pain that goes with it penetrate our being, we actually feel the vulnerability of our being human. When eventually we've come to terms with sadness, we actually feel better and alive. Next time you are sad, cry!

How about you? You answered for everybody with the use of "we" and that includes you. awww I'm avoiding generalized ideas for now because at the moment I think that is dictatorship. Maybe next week I'll change my attitude. Peace out.

When awful things happen to us, we learn from them. That's the important thing of being sad. If we feel sad, it's understood that we just underwent a negative experience. Instead of dwelling on them, we should just learn from them and make the best out of them. It's not good that we should just look on the bright side everytime.

Sometimes I feel sad for no particular reason. I think people call it boredom. I do random things that usually I don't learn much about usually repetitive actions like playing basketball, video games, and more to distract myself towards something other than my sadness/boredom. When awful(I mean what people would commonly consider as awful but not me) things happen to me I feel challenged and adventurous because that's is how I am. I find it interesting when most people usually feel bad on the things that happen to me. I have realized that without expectation there is no disappointment. I don't expect anything so I rarely get disappointed which may lead to sadness. I'm quite different, I think.

Yes, that is important to be sad. It makes us human. When we are sad, we can release inner stress, burden, and pressure. It brings satisfaction to our feelings. We can also see sadness as an inspiration, perhaps to create a painting, to compose music, or to write lyrics and poetry. You can also learn from sadness, to emphatize with others. You can learn to avoid things that will make people sad, or take it as your experience so you can be a good helper for people around you that are sad.

Is it that important to be human? Why do you have to be human when you are already human? You do not have to answer that. Just think about it. Yeah you are right, sadness is a way to release stress and such things. Inspiration for arts? yes. Those are good things, I'm an artist as well but I didn't realize that maybe I'm just sleepy right now. Thanks for opening my mind for these things that my mind did not notice. Have a nice day.
