Can you guide me regarding parking in front of my house?

My neighbour sold a part of his site at the back of his house to build second floor to his house. The buyer constructed a building in that site and we are living in it. Since our house is at the backside, the entrance is given in the side way. My neighbour says, since his house is facing the road, he has right to park two cars in front of his house, along with three gates for his 30x40 site. cars are parked avoiding three gates thus full space is occupied by him. He says that since our house is at the back, not facing the road and our gate is sideways, we do not have right to park our car in front of our own house as the gate area is not enough to cover full car space. Our building also is big. Since it is at the backside, it is not facing the road though it is in the same compound. Please guide me whether my neighbour is justified in his statement? Just to know where I stand, I seek your guidance. Thanks in advance.

Hi Buchi, I can’t find any justification in your neighbour’s words. They are using the lame excuse to avoid disturbance from you people in front of their house. It is better to have talk with them and tell them that you people also need space for parking. Vehicle parking is the main problem in all places. Here too people are displaying board like ‘outsiders are not allowed to park vehicles here’ in front of their gate. It means the house owners have the monopoly in road too… I hope you can solve the problem peacefully.

Thank you Sreekala for the immediate response. My husband and son wanted to fight for the justice but I get worked up if any disturbance of mind occurs. So they kept quiet. However I wanted to know the facts about the case before doing anything further. God bless you.

Hi Buchiji Your neghbor appears to me a bit quarrelsome. in the last 10 years i have built 2 buildings and have faced numerous problems, now i have the experience that neighbors are the worst enemy always, they wanted me to leave a gap of 6' instead of the 3' between our and their walls, my plan was approved by the town planning authority.. I would suggest you to call some of your friends, call this neighbor and 'peacefully' try to solve, never rush to court etc,, hope you understand.. Thanks for sharing. Welcome always, cheers. Thanks for the response. I will also not go to the court and try to solve the problem amicably. I will be going out of station soon. My sister-in-law is not well and I have to be with her for some time.
