Good thing about swimming...

I love swimming but I cannot tell if I'm a good swimmer, I joined competitions before under MILO best Philippines but when I entered college swimming was left behind. This is what I learned about swimming during our lectures. "Swimming is a lifetime sport that benefits the body and the whole person. It is a healthy activity that can be continued for a life time and the health benefits swimming offers for a lifetime are worth the effort it takes to get on a pool". Swimming burn calories at a rate of about 3 calories a mile per pound of body weight.If you weigh 150 lbs. and it takes you 30 minutes to swim one mile, then you will be using about 900 calories in one hour. However many swimmers do not swim that quickly, and many cannot swim for that distance or duration. There are psychological benefits of swimming, if you allow it to occur. Relax and swim with a low effort. Let your mind wander, focusing on nothing but the rhythm of your stroke. This form of meditation can help you gain a feeling of well-being, leaving your water session refreshed and ready to go on the rest of your day. Many swimmers find an in-direct benefit from swimming. They develop life skills such as sportsmanship, time-management, self-discipline, goal-getting and an increased sense of self-worth through their participation in the sport. Swimmers seem to do better in school, in general terms, than non-swimmers in a group. We are all welcome to swim and have all it's benefits. So, if you have kids at home and wanted them to have self confidence let them attend swimming lessons. Happy swimming!

I also love swimming but I don't join competitions. I swim as a way of relaxation and exercise. I started swimming with my siblings when we were still kids. I am not a fast swimmer though because I want to keep it relaxed and for me it is one way of clearing my thoughts. I can endure long but relaxed swimming. One of the best effects of swimming for me is that I usually have a good sleep after a swimming session. It would be really good for children to learn to swim, too. Aside from the fact that they can manage to keep themselves afloat in case of emergency, swimming is very good for exercising the lungs. I have brothers who had asthma and swimming has helped them minimize asthma attacks. Swimming is also less strenuous and low on impact unlike other sports such as boxing or martial arts or other outdoor sports such that even girls and pregnant women can enjoy this sports.

Yes, children can learn time management here to...and self-discipline. When my boy attains the age of 5. I want him to join a swimming class.

Oh that's good. There are many swimming clinics or private swimming instructors who can give your child proper swimming orientation and instructions. If you can personally train you kid then why not? It would surely be a cool and great bonding moment for you guys. Enjoy the splash! :D

On my experience it helps you have a good breathing pattern. Makes your breathing system strong of course beneficial for those singers. Strengthens you body making it lean if you are swimming regularly. Of course one of its great advantage is that you could survive in water and even save lives of others.

Swimming is really good,I desire,but I was afraid to enter deep water,only willing to play in the shallow water,because I was afraid to choke waer. To exercise,consumption of calories the body in many ways,swimming is one of them,I often use running,playing tennis and other methods to keep fit

I joined a class that's why i was able to learn swimming. I run too but I really prefer swimming for my exercise..,..
