Rural Mail Carrier Associate Looking for full time

I have been a rural mail carrier associate for the United States postal service for the past 7 years I really really want a full time position with the postal service and am trying to hang in there until something opens up. Anyone have any ideas how I could get full time sooner. My carrier isn't looking to retire for another 5 years and she is 67 years old.
